No new news, still on schedule for the end of August.
Anyword on the rules? thanks
Great guys, thanks for letting me know everything got there! Glad you like them too :).
@Paul, the guides are really well done and I think the ships are a blast to put together!
Received yesterday in the UK. Everything Marijn says below... now I just need to check out that assembly guide for the dropship :)
Received mine today (in the Netherlands). Fast shipping, excellent product, great castings, cool extras, great updates and the total time from the campaign to the delivery was really great. My best Kickstarter experience so far!!
Got mine today. Everything looks great!
Mine Arrived yesterday.... thanks man
Congratulations on getting funded!
Looks like bills have caught up with me :( May have to bail. Sorry guys. May have to pick these up off Minibits in the future.
No worries Paul, I got a chuckle out of it :)
@Rusti, thanks. Apologies for not spotting the mess my phones spoil chuckler made of your name :(
@Stephen, looks great, just sent you an email.
You're in luck Paul, check out the latest Update :)
Hi Rustic, I just backed at the minimum. I would go higher if there was a pledge that had one each if the aliens as I have too many humans already. Would also be interested in the rules, drop ship and saucer as add one.
Rusti - I am running 2 Pulp alley games, but going for the whole weekend, so yeah, let's chat about a time...
This is a pic of the game we ran at Huzzah: Pirates of the Caribbean https://www.flickr.com/photos/hdbizblog/17937777446/
carapace aliens........heavy stalkers
@ Stephen - Let's talk! I usually go down for Friday and Saturday. If I don't run it with you, I'll at least throw loads of prizes at it!
@Adrian - I'm just putting together the test saucer now, http://crossoverminiatures.com/figures/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/IMG_1750.jpg Sorry, it's been fantastic weather on a holiday weekend and I've been outside for a few days straight. I'm going to try and get an update out tomorrow.
Are you thinking of running a Demo game at Carnage, in Killington VT, in November? If not, I just might... http://www.carnagecon.com/
Any news on the saucer?
Stuart, I've had a few requests for some different combinations. I think I'm going to put a few things up as add-ons tomorrow or the next day. Shipping on just the drop ship has put a lot of folks off though.
To be honest only really interested in the drop ship - any chance of making it an add-on?
Hi Nick, I'm recommending folks start with a 4ft x 4ft. Then adjust to taste. Thanks for the blog post!
Just thinking about play area for the game, what do you recommend for a starter game?
Have added a post to my blog to publicise the KS, might bring in someone else ☺
You make a good point about the hidden markers. I will certainly make them available as an add-on, thanks.
The PDF rulebook with be formatted to 'letter size' only I'm afraid. There is an insane amount of work that goes into getting them formatted for usability and aesthetics and I'm afraid it will only be done once. I plan on updating them continually and maintaining two version would be prohibitive. I think letter size should fit on A4 though.
Thanks for backing! OK, Everything ships from the US, so not EU friendly in the sense that it ships from within the EU. BUT since it's a KS and not a 'sale' I put a very low value on the shipment since you are really getting a reward for backing the project rather than a 'merchandise sale'. A significant distinction in my book.
The 'stretch goals' are included in this project from the beginning. I usually make a fifth figure for the packs and include them as stretch goals, but this time I just included them in the packs as regular items and have avoided any games. I'm just trying to get the best deal possible for you out of the gate.
Two other things...
If hidden markers should be in a two-to-one ratio, the Commander level will need another 30 markers... Will we be able to buy these as add-ons?
And concerning the PDF rulebook - please format it to real A4 size, so us old-worlders will be able to print it, too.
In at the Commander level, this is soooo great! I played UFO till my fingers bleed, or, more accurately, went numb....
One really important question: Will this project be EU friendly/ship from within the EU, so we can avoid the insane import taxes?
Also, I might have missed it, but are there any strechgoals involved?
Stephen, there seems to be quite a call for addons, this is my most diverse KS yet so I'm just trying to work through how to do that. I'll figure out how to do it early next week and set something up. The dropship is expensive to ship is the only issue, not so bad if you are already getting a pound or two of lead, it's not a big jump. It's $15 to ship outside the US by itself, but only adds 9oz to a package otherwise.
Just joined in at engineer level, congrats
I would purchase an additional dropship, if it were available...
alot of the pdfS let you print them out at a kinkos or something(binding cover and all). Its about 10 to 15 bucks so there is that option if ya want.
Excellent Bob! Glad to have you with us :)
xcom on the table top ... I'm in :-)
Thanks Adrian, I've had a few requests for addons, the saucer is actually quite light, so it might not be a bad one to do.
I'm not certain Leon will be carrying these, I've emailed him and I'm waiting for a response at the moment. I'll combine the info with a future update.
Loving the saucer! Will this be available as an add on? I take it these will also end up available from Leon in the future?
@Rafael - I agree with you, nothing beats a physical book, but unfortunately creating actual books isn't a skill set I have so it wasn't an option I considered. There is quite a bit that goes into formatting files for print. Andrea from Ganesha Games (all around great guy) has offered to help me with it at a later date, so it's a possibility at this point. PDF also offers me the ability to keep the rules as an ever evolving document, something to consider as well. Thanks for the feedback!
I knew you were kidding rollntider :)
Awesome, but is there any chance to get the rulesbook in an actual book not a pdf format?
Call me old timer but nothing beats the feeling of an actual book on your hands and it would actually bring more customers that don't have the same facilities to get the pdf files printed or carried in a tablet.
Exciting news, Rusti! Another top-notch KS!
I was being silly Rusti, you have always delivered on time / early and always provided what you promised and then some.
Love backing these kickstarters
@C. Kettering - I think we can work something out, no problem. I'm always hesitant to add 'add ons' during a campaign as I'm never sure I want the headache of managing them. BUT I also like to make people happy, so we'll make it happen :)
@rollntider - I'm hoping to have these out mid/late June, in my last project I learned never to underestimate unforeseen tragedy and put August in as a completion date to give myself some wiggle room!
Just pledged.. where's my order? :)
Rusti does the best kickstarters. Cant wait.
I am a big fan of your Supers line....once the project is funded, is there any way to get the drop ship as an add on? I think it would look great as a Super Villain transport.
@Rusti, yes it does and I understand the reason why.
Hi Wouter, I've been trying to figure out the various combinations for a long time. I will make the rules available after the KS, but only when they are ready for prime time. It might be a month or two before they are polished (hopefully around the time that I send out the rewards). I know the community that is involved in KS is a more understanding crowd that wants to see things develop, so it's a good crowd to 'create' rules with. Once they are polished, then we'll include folks just looking for rules.
Does that make sense?
Another fun miniatures line!
I hope this gets funded soon.
Got any stretch goals in mind?
I would also like to see the PDF of the rules as an add on for lower levels. I know you probably don't like to hear this, but I do quite some 15mm gaming these days and have some greys in 15mm as well. You might attract some of the 15mm players if you were to offer just the rules as a reward or as an add on.
It's just an idea.
We like to keep things small and cozy around here :) Thanks for jumping in!
Joining in at the deep end and surprisingly early (usually there is at least 100 backers before me)
