@Scott Miller @Roger Kibbe Thanks for your support! We are planning next steps based on a DIY kit focusing on reducing manufacturing and shipping costs. We'll be updating our backers soon with more details!
Roger Kibbe le April 9
Sorry to see this not meet it's funding goals. The project has great potential - any next steps?
Scott Miller le April 7
It is unfortunate that you did not meet your funding goal but I think the app has great potential - and without the manufacturing and shipping expenses. Perhaps you can relaunch this as an app and a DIY project with instructions and perhaps even the .stl files for 3D printing brackets and such?
Mike Heck le April 7
I'm also saddened that you didn't reach your funding goal. I really hope that this project will resurface in some other form as it had a lot of promise. Clearly a lot of thought and work went into the design of both the hardware and app.Good luck.

Sad to see your Kickstarter not succeed. I'm still interested in the app though. Hope you plan to make something out of it.
Matt Bruman le March 27
I would like to request smart home integration, preferably a use case like imperihome app. With alexa support will I be able to request a IP security camera to show up? Or at least allow for timers to have the firefly app relaunch itself if it looses focus so if I have a security cam pop up it can go back.
Andrew Little le March 16
Never mind...just figured it out!
Andrew Little le March 16
dumb question: I just backed the firefly smart mirror tier for $150...Does that come with the app? Or is the app free?
Firefly Créateur le March 11
@Mike Heck We’ve used Firefly with an iPad Pro and iPad Minis. Both work great and are readable, the main difference is more content can fit on an iPad Pro so the layout will change to fit more widgets at once. Our main project image (the one that shows Jan 9 at 11:45 AM) is using an iPad Pro, while other shots such as the full length mirror showing 12:42 PM is an iPad mini. Thanks for your support!
Mike Heck le March 11
I assume the display on the mirror is a based on the size of the tablet you're using (since you're viewing the tablet's screen through the mirror). So with a iPad mini it would be fairly small and much more readable on a 12-inch iPad pro. If correct, is there an optimal size tablet that you recommend?
Firefly Créateur le March 9
@Errahaoui We currently plan to build the mirrors in the US, and the international shipping costs we've seen for a package this size are too high for us to currently offer that option. We are looking into other possibilities and will let you know if this changes! Firefly isn't exactly using Siri, but still has similar voice controls. You can add your own widgets by setting a custom website for the widget's view!
Errahaoui le March 9
Do you expect delivery outside US? Your product is really great and I am sur it will interest people around the world!
Will support Siri on IPad or not? Will we be able to add widgets like on iOS products?
Firefly Créateur le March 8
@FodderZone Our US shipping costs are $20, we estimated this using Multi-Channel Fulfillment by Amazon
FodderZone le March 8
Do you have any estimates for shipping costs yet?
Firefly Créateur le March 8
@tyree Great idea! Your idea is on our agenda. We experimented with showing Youtube videos in an earlier prototype but ended up not including it in the current version. We're definitely looking into it more now and will update you when we've got the feature ready!
Firefly Créateur le March 8
Hey @fodderZone, thanks for the suggestion! Apps and widgets run in the Firefly app on the tablet, widgets that require additional settings can be configured through the companion app. We also plan to allow users to add their own widgets by display a web page. We agree that Google Maps is a must have and we've actually already started working on it. We look forward to more of your ideas!
Tyree le March 8
@creator can you watch youtube on it
Firefly Créateur le March 8
@Errahaoui We are currently only supporting English, and working on including more languages. Amazon Polly, which we use for text to speech does support French so we would like to use that. However, other features such as Alexa integration do not currently support French.
Firefly Créateur le March 8
@Mike Maciazka Thats right! Any $5 and up backer gets the premium subscription for life. We do not currently have monthly pricing for non backers, it’s going to depend on the pricing for AWS and which AWS services we end up using, currently AVS (which is free) and Polly, but likely to include Lex and Lambda as we migrate our backend to AWS. It’s great to hear you like our project, thanks for your support!
FodderZone le March 8
This looks like a really great idea! I think a must have app would be google maps to show my traffic to work in the morning. Can you explain how the apps/widgets work? I assume the tablet is running your Firefly app with widgets you created.
Errahaoui le March 8
Hi,
Will the mirror support different languages? I am from Morocco and we speak Arabic and French more than English.
Good luck
Mike Maciazka le March 8
Alright, so I want to make sure I'm reading this correctly. Any backer ($5 and up) gets the app and the premium subscription for life? And, I'm curious, do you know about how much the monthly cost will be for non-backers?
If I am reading this correctly, I'll back you for the app (and add extra money to help because I don't want you spending money on a sticker or t-shirt for me and unfortunately don't have the room for the mirror although I really like the idea).
Firefly Créateur le March 8
@Glen Rucker Yup, we absolutely have cable routing for a charging cord which can be seen in the interactive CAD model on our page! It isn't in the prototype that you see in our video, but will definitely be in the final product. Additionally, all backers in tiers that receive a mirror also get the full Firefly companion app, thanks so much for your support!
Glen Rucker le March 8
Is there an opening for a charging cable while the tablet is mounted in the mirror? How do we get the FireFly app for $5 and its benefits when backing the mirror?
