Thank you for visiting our Kickstarter Campaign site. Getting to this point has been a long road for the inventor of SafeStrobe. Art and his team have thought up, conceptualized, designed and built a truly lifesaving product. Each year there are nearly 2,200 killed or severely injured in wheelchairs. In almost every incident, the driver of the vehicle proclaims, "I didn't see him." We invented SafeStrobe to make wheelchair users visible to drivers of motor vehicles.
We are here to ask for assistance in putting the finishing touches on a truly unique and life saving innovation that could change hundreds of thousands of lives.
DEALERS: Please call: 509 554 2548 or 503 442 0801 for pricing and distribution.
On our own we have trademarked and patented the SafeStrobe product. A fully functional prototype is available and in full demo mode. This process cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. We are looking for the final pieces to get this funded and out to the motorized wheelchair community. The demand is there and the product is almost ready.
This is where you come in. Help this be a reality for thousands of people and most certainly save lives. Please keep in mind that there are over 20,000 traffic related incidents in the USA alone between cars and motorized wheelchairs. Statistics show that over 2,200 people a year are killed or injured due to potentially avoidable wheelchair accidents.
Currently wheelchair users spend thousands of dollars a month in transport costs partly due to the lack of confidence and potential dangers. SafeStrobe will provide financial benefits as well as greater freedom.

Tragic, yet avoidable!
Family members of wheelchair users will experience a greater peace of mind knowing their loved ones are safer out on the road.
Here is some interesting data regarding SafeStrobe:
People in wheelchairs are not as tall as an average eight year child. They lack “visibility presence.”
SafeStrobe provides safety, security, and confidence by providing that much needed visibility presence. As well as heightened visibility during the day, SafeStrobe will provide much needed visibility at dusk and dark. Allowing the freedom and confidence for wheelchair users to go further at night.
Traveling on city streets, intersections and parking lots is extremely dangerous for those in wheelchairs because of that lack of visibility presence. With the push of a button, SafeStrobe will provide the user with the safety and confidence to navigate through these danger zones.
SafeStrobe was designed with sensitivity of the user in mind. SafeStrobe provides safety and security when needed and with the touch of a button is tucked out of sight.
SafeStrobe’s 72 inch height and powerful pulsing strobe head provides visibility presence when needed and is discretely out of sight when not needed.
I've added the following two photos, not about me but, showing the height of SafeStrobe and the size. It is compact and easily fits on any wheelchair.
SafeStrobe for Wheelchair, Specifications:
SafeStrobe weighs less than 2 pounds. Mast height is 72 inches when fully extended. The strobe head has 8 LEDs that produces variable 350-650 lumens of pulsing light.
The strobe head senses ambient light and automatically adjust LED output to be brighter during daytime and an appropriate non-blinding amount of safety lighting at night.
The powerful Lithium-Ion battery only needs charging every 28 days with normal use (Normal usage being 5 cycles per day and an on-time of 20 minutes each cycle).
The Remote Control has a lanyard for quick access and also comes with Velcro for attaching to the arm-rest or wheelchair control. The Remote Control will only operate your SafeStrobe and no other signals will interfere.
If your Remote is lost, call SafeStrobe and one that is matched to your unit will be overnight shipped to you (replacement cost and shipping will be added).
The SafeStrobe wheelchair mount can be easily mounted onto any chair. No tools required. Once the mount is attached, SafeStrobe can be installed or removed with one hand.
SafeStrobe is waterproof so driving in the rain is not an issue.
SafeStrobe comes with a battery charger for use with any normal 115V outlet. Charging takes less than 2 hours.
SafeStrobe has a full one year warranty.
Imagine how devastated you would be if you accidentally hurt or killed a wheelchair user simply because you could not see them? SafeStrobe greatly decreases the chance of this happening.
DO WHAT YOU CAN FOR OUR DISABLED FRIENDS, VETERANS AND NEIGHBORS!! Since day one this project has enjoyed commercial demand. We have brought the prototype to various wheelchair community functions and the uproar it has created was intense! The potential users of our product finally saw the possibilities of traveling a little further than they were normally doing with a much greater amount of safety and confidence.
SafeStrobe™ has many applications and we have included: “SafeStrobe for Roadside” for people who want it and make a pledge.
SafeStrobe™ for roadside emergency is 36 inches tall when extended. Its triangular shape and three drop-down extended feet make it very stable. The powerful strobe head has nine LEDs and can be seen for over two miles and also from the air.
The drop-down extension feet have powerful permanent magnets on the tips so the unit can be attached to the top of a vehicle and will not blow off.
The unit is waterproof and its Lithium-Ion battery will operate the strobe head 24/7 for one full week. The strobe head produces 650 lumens of pulsing light making it visible from all angles day and night.
It is rechargeable from a 115 volt outlet or from the outlet in one’s vehicle. It only requires charging every 28 days.SafeStrobe™ comes with chargers for both uses.
Why use flares which sink in the snow or water, have a short visibility range and only last a short time.Flares can start fires and are unsafe. SafeStrobe™ eliminates all those issues.
SafeStrobe™ is very rugged. It can stand abuse. It is designed for heavy use by truckers, emergency crews, police and all others who need protection and to be seen during an accident or breakdown.
SafeStrobe™ is 14 inches long when down and fits snuggly in the carrying case provided. It can be easily removed from the case and activated in seconds. Providing a powerful warning light or a light for help.
We envision SafeStrobe for Roadside in every emergency and police vehicle in the USA . Plus, trucks, cars, ATVs, and much more.
Here is what our plans are with the campaign funds:
SCHEDULE DEVELOPMENT AND DELIVERY
8/15/15: Complete final design and manufacturing prototype testing.
10/1/15: Complete government required FCC testing and evaluation phase
10/2/15: Start first production lot for both SafeStrobe for wheelchairs and SafeStrobe for roadside
12/2/15: Complete first production, ship units to Kickstarter contributors
Note: As with any new product, there may be some glitches and therefore production and shipping may be delayed. We will do all we can to adhere to the above schedule.
Risks and challenges
We are farther along in the process than many other projects. We have patents and trademarks, we are registered, licensed, and have working prototypes. We have done all we could with our own finances to get this much needed product to market.
Along the way we ran into a less than reputable engineering firm that claimed they could get this done on time and under budget. They didn't.
This setback cost us valuable time and resources. We have since settled on an excellent Engineering firm that is providing truthful, quality, skilled guidance on getting this project across the goal line.
The majority of the funds will be spent on the modifications and enhancements to the product that this engineering firm has suggested.
Along with slight modifications to the product before production, we need FCC certification. This is a $6000.00 fee, but only takes 4-6 weeks
Since day one this project has enjoyed commercial demand. We have demonstrated the prototype to various wheelchair community functions and the National Veterans Wheelchair Olympics, the uproar it has created was intense! The potential users of our product finally saw the possibilities of traveling in safety and with a feeling of security and confidence. People in wheelchairs are very active and deserve the same safety and security that we take for granted.
The good in this alone showed us we needed to get this project funded and out to this group of courageous citizens who need our support in making there lives a little bit safer.
