74% and NEW TIERS!
Greetings, old school adventure backers!
Live from the Executive Producer’s desk in the Boogiedown Bronx, IT’S SATURDAY NIGHT!
And we have just reached an astonishing 74% of our goal at over $48K, THANK YOU! We’re coming so close to meeting our target now, that hopefully it won’t be much longer until we send off another update talking about the amazing things we’re going to accomplish with our stretch goals! But until then… have we got some news for you!
INTRODUCING NEW ALL-DIGITAL TIERS
- DRM-free digital copy of the Mage’s Initiation game
- DRM-free digital copy of the Mage’s Initiation soundtrack
- DRM-free digital copy of Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman’s Mine game (entitles the backer to a free upgrade when the improved v4.0 is released)
- DRM-free digital copy of the Al Emmo soundtrack (53 Tracks by Tom & Dianne Lewandowski)
- Access to the private backer forums
- Your name in a library book in the Mage’s Tower library
- A set of magical game art desktop wallpapers
- PDF version of the hardcover art book that is available at the $150 tier and up
- Hi-res PNG version of the cloth map of Iginor that is available with the Collector’s Edition at $100 and up
- A full set of high-quality character portraits by the very talented Karen Petrasko
- Pending reaching our Novelization stretch goal, e-book of the Mage’s Initiation novel
The other newly-added, all-digital tier, Shaman, is $70 and will feature the same rewards as the Spellbinder tier, except it will also include access to the closed beta build of Mage’s Initiation, and a second digital copy of the Mage’s Initiation game.
Please note that the exclusive rewards in these two new digital tiers do not extend to higher tiers—they don’t include any physical copies or collectible items at all. They are intended to provide digital rewards to our international backers who’d rather not get hassled by customs and/or people living in cramped housing who’d rather not receive physical items.
There is one exception, however: every tier, $50 and greater, (including the Magus tier where you get the t-shirt) will now receive a PDF of the art book!
HIMALAYA STUDIOS ON ALIVE AND KICKING!
SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAAAAAY! Tassilo and the fine folks at Bumblebee Games are doing a live stream of Kickstarter games, and have scheduled the Himalaya team for the 4:30PM CET slot (10:30AM EST, 7:30AM PST) on Sunday 24th of February. All the developers participating will talk about their games, Kickstarter and its future, we'll be there to answer any questions about Mage’s Initiation that the viewers might have for us. Tune in if you can, Chris and I will be on as will John-Paul and Daniel!
You find the program for this all-day stream here.
We really appreciate them giving us a hand, so be sure to check out their campaign for Days of Dawn!
If only putting together an amazing background was really such a quick process! Enjoy this “behind-the-scenes” sneak peek of some development work on Mage’s Initiation. Watch as artist Jeremy Kitchen sketches out a scene extension of a wilderness area in Iginor. An intriguing and interesting look at how a background concept sketch comes together from scratch.
Finally, here are a few similar Kickstarter projects which will be ending soon, which we thought our fans and backers might be interested in.
Asylum: Agustín Cordes is a buddy of ours. He also happens to be currently running a Kickstarter campaign of his very own - a very successfully funded one, no less! Asylum is a creepy Horror / Adventure game from the creators of Scratches. Agustin's now aiming for some really neat stretch goals. Allow us to exercise some cronyism and get the guy some more exposure!
Days of Dawn: Days of Dawn is a RPG game with a unique magic system (sounds familiar, eh?) The game is looking very nice, with lush backgrounds to explore, monsters to fight, and some very cool character and GUI artwork. If you're a fan of turn-based RPG games, take a look. These guys are down to their final day and have a little under $15K remaining to hit their target.
Cryamore: This game has been a runaway success on Kickstarter. It's a fantastic-looking RPG, featuring many of the retro hallmarks that made SNES classics such as The Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, and The Legend of Zelda such hits. They've come down to their final days and have managed to hit all but the very last of their stretch goals. Definitely worthy of a look!
Have a great rest of the weekend, and thanks so much again for your support!
