When we send out our backer surveys, we will ask what platform you prefer for your digital copy. For those who select Mac, you will get a Wineskin wrapped version of the PC game. A native version won't be made available unless we reach our Porting stretch goal of $120,000.
If we succeed and reach $120,000, Mac backers will get the wrapped version when the Windows release is out, then get a free upgrade to the native version once it is ready.Last updated:
The resolution options in the AGS engine (which we are creating the game in) is currently one of the engine's shortcomings. Since AGS is now open source, some programmers are currently working on adding support for any resolution, but since these implementations rely on third parties, we can't make any promises about support for other resolutions just yet. Though, 16:9 resolution is something we'll definitely need to investigate for Android and iOS versions (assuming we meet the $120k stretch goal). We'll keep you guys posted about this.
At the moment, running a 4:3 AGS game on a 16:9 monitor will work, but place vertical black bars at the left and right screen edges.Last updated:
I signed up for the Collector's Edition on your pre-order list ages ago. Do I have to pledge at $100 to get the poster and box?
In short, yes. It was originally mentioned that pricing was "to be announced" and that the pre-order list was just a notification to let people know when the game was nearing release (and to give us an early idea of the type of numbers we'd need to cater to) -- meaning that customers could make a decision at that point whether they wanted to pay the cost of the Collector's Edition or not. Given the new price breaks we're getting on items being manufactured/printed, most of which required us to open wholesale accounts with our suppliers (economies of scope), the Collector's Edition is actually better value-for-money now than it was going to be before at around the same price.
Having said that, should this campaign reach its target goal, we'll be selling boxed copies and posters both individually from the Himalaya store after the campaign ends. They'll be made available without all the extras/swag (for a lower price).Last updated:
Is the King's Quest 3 poster going to be made available through Kickstarter or your website since it was offered in the preorder package?
Sorry, but no. Activision owns the King's Quest IP and our hands are tied to make anything King Quest's related for sale. It would be too much of a legal gray area to risk now. We're hoping that the rest of the awesome swag we are offering makes up for it!Last updated:
Can I have a different name aside from my full name or Kickstarter handle appear in the library book?
Absolutely! When we send out the backer surveys, we will ask what name you would like to have appear in the library book.Last updated:

Sure can-- simply pledge the amount you wish, then select a reward tier that is less than the amount and if you're extremely charitable you can even select "No Reward". We also now have a choice of two different all-digital tiers where you will get a plethora of digital goodies instead, the Spellbinder tier at $50 and Shaman tier at $70!Last updated:
Awesome, we're always happy to scope out new talent-- please keep an eye on our website, www.himalaystudios.com, and/or our Facebook and Twitter for when we announce the auditions.Last updated:
We're not crazy. Our prices are just insaaaaane! (Anyone from the tristate area who remembers this?)
We've been carefully planning this for months, and have lined up our suppliers and costs far ahead of time. They've been fully worked into the budget, and we will deliver everything that is promised and we will not be having issues with the rewards eating that heavily into our budget. See the "Show Me the Money!" section for a little more info.Last updated:
The game has to go through Steam's Greenlight process first, before we can promise Steam keys. But if the game gets approved, we will guarantee every backer a Steam code.
Please vote "Yes" on the game at Greenlight to help us bring it to your Steam account!
When I try to run the demo, I get an error message about the adapter or graphics display resolution not being supported. How do I fix this?
If you experience any adapter or graphics resolution error messages when running the demo, you may run the winsetup.exe program located in the game folder (or by clicking the "Settings Menu" icon) and change various graphics settings. You can try:
-Unchecking the "Side borders on widescreen monitors" option.
-Checking the "Run in a window instead of full-screen" box
-Changing the "Graphics driver" setting to DirectDraw 5
-Changing the "Graphics filter" to "None"
Usually, only one of the above steps is required, so you may wish to try them in the listed order.Last updated:
