The original goal of City of Pieces was to create original high-energy music that engages listeners. We are loud, fast, and kinetic, with garage sensibilities and post-punk overtones. City of Pieces was formed in March of 2014 by David Fox, Paul Shuirman, Doug Hoffman, and Karen McFarlane Holman. Paul has since left the project, but his influence, energy, and friendship remain with us.
In November 2014 we laid down tracks for 15 songs, and after several weeks of mixing and refining with recording and sound engineer Kyle Sanders, we have a 41 minute album ready for pressing.
This is where you come in. We are asking your help in making these digital recordings a Vinyl reality. City of Pieces will sound best on Vinyl, but a free download is included so you can listen to us on the device of your choosing. Look at a $25 contribution as a pre-order for the record, because a shiny new vinyl record is exactly what you get for your generous pledge.
A little more about us: Our approach to music regards--among other topics--honest reflection of our City, Community, and Sub-Communities. Songs like "I've Been Blessed (by the City of Salem)", "Morning Paper" and "Bike Cop" tackle observations of local policy and the status quo, while "Why Dontcha Wanna" and "She Loves the City" profess our undying love for the city we live, work, and play in. Salem.

Risks and challenges
Releasing an album on vinyl requires some hands-off on our part at the point we place our vinyl order. The record pressing companies are generally backlogged three to four months and while they can estimate a delivery date, it isn't uncommon for that date to get pushed out for one reason or another. We would like to think that May of this year is a reasonable expectation of our record's release if we reach our monetary goal, but it could go later if there are any unforeseen issues. We are committed to doing everything on our end in a timely and efficient manner. Should any issues arise during production that require our attention, we are prepared to respond in the immediate to insure that our product is completed unimpeded.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
