KICKSTARTER STAFF PICK - Keep your drive safe and your smartphone secure with the Bsteady Car Mount, flexibly designed to fit any phone and any car. Just hang the Bsteady and your phone within comfortable reach from your car’s air vents. The Bsteady doesn't obstruct your driving view or your vent use unlike other bulkier mounts, allowing you to safely view your GPS or playlist hands-free. No tools, adhesion or clumsy suction clips required.
The any-phone design still works if you swap in your friend's phone or upgrade yours, so you only need one mount, and the open sides mean it’s easy to charge your phone as you go. The 360º vent clip means it fits even angled vents.
It’s lightweight and portable and will be easy take with you on your out-of-town trips as well!
The Bsteady went through over 50 rapidly prototyped and thoroughly tested versions to arrive at its final form. Bhold uses rapid prototyping and beta tests all designs with real users in our Bhold Labs program to deliver you an end product with the best usability and the most thoughtful design.
As the minimally designed shape resembles an anchor, I decided to go further with this imagery as an anchor ties in to navigation.
I’m announcing this new design over Kickstarter to raise funds for a mold. Especially as the Bsteady consists of 3 separate pieces, the mold requirements are more complicated and require more overhead. The production material will be a composite silicone-like rubber that you’re all familiar with. It provides extra grip and will more obviously feel durable. The 3D printed nylon for the prototype is also super durable but as it’s a very new material, it requires more explanation for users to feel more confident with it. You’ll love the feel of the new composite material!
Your pledge would allow me to take this useful product to market by this holiday season and bring a safer drive to more people!
The Bsteady Car Mount is a new and unique solution to a common problem that is both minimalist and playful in style. It is a patent-pending original design.
What the press says about the Bsteady:
"According to U.S. statistics, texting while driving is the leading cause of death among teenagers, with over 3,000 teens killed each year and even more injured. Yet despite this known danger, we continue to use our phones behind the wheel, either for texting, checking emails, or following the GPS. We can all do our part to promote safe, hands free driving by using the Bsteady Car Mount."

What the press says about Bhold:
"The shear inventiveness of the company’s online catalogue speaks volumes for the genuine design talent behind Bhold’s business."

Early Bsteady User Testimonials
"As a frequent ZipCar driver in NYC, I had been looking for ages for a good way to mount my iPhone to any type of car that I drove in so I could use it legally and safely as a GPS and to play music. I went through endless plastic and suction options that I bought in stores, online, overseas that either broke quickly or couldn't handle the iPhone 6+ I recently got. They also never traveled well. When I got my first Bsteady mount everything changed"
"Great example of innovative & intelligent design whereby this device works well with a variety of different phones and installs easily in different vehicles. Also like how it gently swings to one side when the car turns, imparting a kind of kinetic motion. This product fills a pronounced need of many drivers, which is to safely hold a smartphone in readable position for navigation via map software while driving."

More on me
I'm an MIT & Stanford grad and former Googler who is passionate about problem solving and design. I worked at the intersection of technology and creative my entire life and I love exploring the interaction between art and science, of aesthetics and practicality, of relevance in our daily lives and timelessness. I love bright, vibrant colors.
At Google, I worked on growing consumer products including Chrome, Wallet and Google+ and empowering partner communities such as publishers and developers. Throughout my undergrad and grad years, I studied math and applied math including probability, operations research, risk analysis and decision analysis.
I'm also from a manufacturing family. The concept for Bhold came from my frustration with how we manufacture today. I believe that we could learn to make things more efficiently.
Within just the first year, I led Bhold to strong recognition from both the maker and design communities. With your support, I hope to continue to design problem-solving products for you!

Risks and challenges
You'll be the first to receive the production version of the Bsteady Car Mount, an innovative design that uses the latest prototyping and manufacturing technology as well as research and market data to allow you to drive more safely while accessing your phone for everything else you might need on the road.
I'm working hard to minimize the risks and have a proven track record as I completed and fulfilled a successful Kickstarter last year. If you think the Bsteady Car Mount could be useful for someone you know, please share the project with them!
I've reviewed and signed off on the final prototype and the package design is ready. I've planned ahead in the schedule for fulfillment.
I operate in a very scrappy and resourceful way, so I will address any setbacks head on. I have a great deal of experience operating successfully under tight timelines. I believe in open communication and will keep in good touch with all backers on progress, challenges and setbacks.
