Feral Icons for solo viola album
These modern works composed between 2013 - 2014 are written with an extensive use of the viola’s deep and lyrical tone creating a wide-ranging musical atmosphere that is stirring, dramatic and original, totaling over 40 minutes of music.
Three of the six works have been recorded at Jack Straw Productions here in Seattle. The remaining works to be recorded, along with the final album production, are scheduled to be completed by November of this year.
The Feral Icons album is slated to be released worldwide in winter/spring of 2015.

Feral Icons comes fresh on the heels of the tremendously successful release of August Ruins for solo cello, which you helped Kickstart in 2012.
Cellist Paige Stockley and I just returned in April from Rockport, Massachusetts where Ms. Stockley performed the entire August Ruins suite as part of the Parma music festival at the beautiful Shalin Liu Performance Hall.
Since its release, August Ruins has spent several weeks on the Amazon top 100 in the US and Canada and was recently the number-2 best seller on Amazon MP3 in the “Modern and 20th Century Classical” category.
August Ruins will be submitted by Navona Records for a Grammy this year.
Risks and challenges
There are still many moving parts to having this album realized, including more recording and editing sessions, mastering, performer fees, as well as album artwork by the superb artist Sean Waple.
I am seeking to raise a minimum of $4000, but expenses are still greater.
Right now, all of the elements of this project are ready to move forward.
Your backing will make this possible.
At different levels of support, I am offering advance purchase of Feral Icons downloads and CDs. There is also archive quality, hand screened album artwork, all mailed to you, as well as invitations to the catered and open bar CD release party at Steve Jensen Gallery with Mara Gearman performing works from the album, along with other rewards.
Your help means very much to me.
In addition to your help funding this project, you are helping to advance new concert music that is vital to the continuation of the art music medium.
