About this project
I'd like to share a Raynbo with you.
The Raynbo is a modern design of a long old tradition of showing support, membership or representing a cause or affiliation dating back to the 14th century through the means of displaying a colored ribbon.
Though they were primarily used by the military back then, the colored ribbon has a long tie in history, and, since the early 19th century, has taken on many meanings--stirring many emotions. The modern colored ribbons of today have become a popular way to display a person’s loyalty or affiliation to one of many causes or passions that may have touched their life.
Today, the tradition is as strong as ever, and is evident across the world. The modern ribbon can be found on the backs of cars & trucks, on store front glass, on refrigerators, & offices, at weekend events, walks, & fund raisers and schools everywhere and in every color of the rainbow.
Share a Raynbo Every Day.
Share a Raynbo with those around you every day. Choose your colors and enjoy the functional shape and soft colors which can blend into any room or setting from a nursery to large institutions.
Great for home, office, retail or scattered through a medical practice. Bo's create a whimsical collar friendly alternative to a traditional coat or utility wall hook--one with a loud visual voice and form most of us can relate to.
For practitioners, educators, retailers and decorators, Raynbo's also make for a great clinical, retail or office decor compliment, with a large set littering a room wall or hallway, adding a splash of color and an appealing addition of 3D relief and texture to a wall. Get your Co-workers together, share this with them, and pool your pledges; Eight co-workers, at any reward level, can make for a nice large set of Bo's for your office and, with the combination sets, they can enjoy the key and coat racks at home. Also, you can use them to individually, or as a set, memorialize people or events by tagging them with paint, vinyl or markers and transform a whole wall into a dedication piece. You or your office can even capitalize on that by selling them to your patrons or patients.
Works so well; why not...
To expand on the practical use of the Raynbos, I have designed a complimenting Key Rack and Ribbon Coat Rack and offer them in a couple of reward levels as well. The clean design of these racks have complimenting component bases welded to them to add to their aesthetics. The Coat Rack's gently waving ribbon ties the original Raynbos together and adds a feel of movement in the breeze to them, while the stand off back of the Key Rack stands the rack off of the wall serving two purposes, one, to suspend it off of the wall, giving it a fun feel of depth and looks like it is floating, and two, to keep your keys from scratching the surface of your wall.
American Made Quality sent to you from Colorado Springs, CO, CNC plasma cut from 14 gauge steel sheets for durability without bulk, the best durable color option in finish, and, where most fall short to provide, quality hardware. Further, installation and suggested care instructions are also included. Designed, inspected and crash dummy tested by me, for me, and to my complete satisfaction--for your complete satisfaction. Finally, they are inspected, wrapped, packaged & sent off with care to you, the Kickstarters of the Raynbo.
The result is a fun, durable, traditional, complimenting, soft, loud, symbolic, functional, non-traditional, quality wall hook made with pride whose symbolic form has stood the test of time just as your Raynbos are built to do. I think that fits all of the criteria of a High Quality Product Design Kickstarter success story with affordable rewards to fulfill every reward level and sell out each one!! ;D
So, after you back the Bo's with your reward selection, hit up your docs, your friends, family, heros, bosses , teachers, military wives, & employers; shoot them a link to us here on Kickstarter--its quick and easy to do and would augment your support of me. Let them know verbally, virally, telepathically, pigeon or any other way you can think of help us share a Raynbo and build a market niche.

For Those Who Can't Right Now
for one reason or another, but would still like to help out, I'm sending our thanks for a $5 pledge with this WONDERFUL 2" TUIT and they will be raw--no finish so that the steel can naturally patina over time. So long as you agree that, when the Kickstarter launch is over and you decide you missed out on a great product, wonder why you didn't buy them while they were cheaper here before they went to retail--like I have done on here; now, you will have a reminder of the Raynbos, and you will order them from the Raynbo website as soon as you get around to it. Well, now you have a "ROUND TUIT". So, no excuses. The TUITs will be last to ship so I can focus on the main product runs, unless you really want it sooner, then, contact me and we can arrange something.
Also, these will be randomly put into shipments to remind some of you wonderful backers of the Raynbo, if you would be so kind, to shoot me a couple of pictures of your Bo's installed and a quick comment/review of them, I want your feedback, just as soon as you get a "ROUND TUIT".
will help me with tooling, finishing and packaging, and if we can reach our higher pledged numbers, greatly help with carrying out a group targeted marketing plan and web presence, to establish and build & maintain a retail market presence of the Bo's.
Lets Hit The Ground Running...
**The First 25 Backers at the $28 Reward Level will Receive One More Ribbon Free; making it a set of four for the price of 3.
The Raynbo has no affiliation to, and makes no representation of any causes, groups or organizations represented by any of the color shades or shapes I offer in the Raynbo product line. Both the ribbon shape and colors used are free domain, but not the pink ones in Canadah eh. The Pink Ribbon is a Registered Trademark in Canada, so no pink Rainbos will be shipped there. The Bo's design shape and its components were created by me in CAD.
Thank YOU Kickstarters and backers of the Raynbo, see you on the other side.
Risks and challenges
Being that the introduction of the Raynbo hooks are being made and shipped by me, except for powder coating, I have full control over any setbacks directly. And, in the case of the only major equipment (the CNC table) failure, I have access to another CNC table. Although I can handle any and all electronic, electrical or mechanical failures and/or repairs, we know all too well, Murphy and his Law are always opportunistic. If and when he pops his head, communications & updates with backers are in place through Kickstarter and are a very effective way to keep backers up on the product progress.
The only process out of my control is the finishing, but my powdercoater is confident of being able to handle our large weekly drop of product. He is dependable, does stellar work and is a perfectionist like someone else I know...
Also, depending on the quantity of sets ordered, I may have to find a more efficient way to de-burr the cut pieces because of quantity. If more than 20% of the total reward limits are met, I will have to change up the way the product will have to be de-burred after being cut. This may involve having to order and freight ship in a large de-burring tub to handle the larger volume, but as of right now, uh, Houston we are clear to launch the Raynbo.
If you guys help me reach my funding goal, I will need two weeks to receive the funding and one week after that to set up tooling, the shop and call in a few favors for this volume of a run. So, after that three weeks, with funding and tooling in place, week four production will start, first shipment on the docks as soon as my first full eight colored order batch is powdercoated.
Orders will be filled in the order they are received. 1457 pieces a week coated eight different colors is going to be interesting, I am planning to third the total product run, finish them in 8 colored lots and ship out in 3 monthly shipments at the end of each month until the order is filled. Delivery is scheduled through the end of July, but I feel we may have them all out early to mid July if my production numbers run smooth. That's at a fully "SOLD OUT" Rewards part run, which with these, I am looking forward to the challenge.
Other than that...an excited gracious thank you to all who back the Bo's; may your Raynbos always be bright.
