The US Presidents deck has been in production for many months. Each card has been hand drawn to feature the most intricate details. This deck features all 44 presidents and 4 popular first ladies as queens. Although we can debate which presidents should have been on the court cards, we have done much research before making our choices. We chose based on popularity and the president’s influence on our nation’s history. The remaining presidents are uniquely featured on the number cards.

The US President Deck was not only designed to appeal to the card collector audience, but also as a fully playable deck of cards. It will be hard not to reflect on our great nation’s history and the accomplishments of our past leaders while playing with these cards.

We are launching this deck in February in honor of President’s Day (February 16th) here in the United States. Pick up a few packs to show your patriotism, and few extra to play with and admire. Our goal is to have these in your hands by Independence Day

Abraham Lincoln If there’s one president whose legacy needs little introduction, it’s Lincoln. Who else can boast that he freed the slaves and started the United States on the path toward becoming a truly free and equal country? He’s consistently at or near the top of lists of greatest presidents, and there’s no question as to the enduring power of his legacy.

Franklin D. Roosevelt Widely considered one of the greatest U.S. presidents, Roosevelt led us out of the Great Depression, brought us into World War II, and worked to bring a peace that he wouldn’t see, having died just a few months before our involvement in the war ended. He was, thanks to his strong leadership, the only president elected to more than two terms.

Thomas Jefferson There’s much to say about our third president, but one fact that just might eclipse them all is the purchase he made that doubled the size of the United States. How many leaders can make that claim? It was the Louisiana Purchase, and it pushed the boundaries of our nation west of the Mississippi River and brought valuable ports into our control.

George Washington He’s the easiest one, of course – we could just say “founded a nation” and move on. But it’s worth noting that as the first president, he did much to set the tone of the office for future leaders. Among other things, it was Washington who chose the title “Mr. President” for those addressing him (rejecting fancier titles like “His Excellency” and “His Highness”), and it was Washington who set the precedent for a two-term maximum, feeling ready for retirement after eight years of leading a new nation.

Theodore Roosevelt At age 42 when he was sworn in, Roosevelt was the youngest president ever, but his legacy extends far beyond his age. More than any one act, Roosevelt is remembered for his charisma, which revived an office that was beginning to seem sleepy and ineffectual. He placed the office of president back at the center stage of the U.S.

Harry S. Truman Picking up where Roosevelt left off, Truman brought peace and prosperity to the U.S. in the aftermath of World War II. But he also presided over the beginnings of the next conflicts: the Korean War and the Cold War.

Woodrow Wilson Wilson brought the United States into World War I during his second term – after campaigning for reelection as the president who kept us out of war. Though WWI is misty in our memories almost a century later, it was a war of unprecedented scope at the time, shaping much of Wilson’s second term. Also memorable was the beginning of Prohibition at the end of Wilson’s presidential.

John F. Kennedy JFK had an impressive string of firsts to his credit: the first president born in the 20th century, the first Catholic president, the first president to win a Pulitzer Prize. His term was a time of great change in the U.S. and around the world, with the Vietnam War, the Bay of Pigs, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Civil Rights Movement – it’s hard to pick a single legacy he leaves. But we’ll settle on the fact that he truly brought the presidency into the modern age, rocketing to the office on the strength of the first televised presidential debate. His good looks and charisma played so well on TV that we couldn’t help but elect him.

Eleanor Roosevelt After her husband suffered a polio attack in 1921, Eleanor stepped forward to help Franklin with his political career. When her husband became president in 1933, Eleanor dramatically changed the role of the first lady. Not content to stay in the background and handle domestic matters, she showed the world that the first lady was an important part of American politics. She gave press conferences and spoke out for human rights, children's causes and women's issues, working on behalf of the League of Women Voters. She even had her own newspaper column, "My Day." She also focused on helping the country's poor, stood against racial discrimination and, during World War II, traveled abroad to visit U.S. troops.

For her active role in public policy, Eleanor was heavily criticized by some. She was praised by others, however, and today, she is regarded by as a leader of women's and civil rights, as well as one of the first public officials to publicize important issues through the mass media.

Life after the White House Following her husband's death, on April 12, 1945, Eleanor told interviewers that she didn't have plans for continuing her public service: "The story is over," she reportedly stated. However, the opposite would actually prove to be true. From 1945 to 1953, Eleanor served as a delegate to the United Nations General Assembly. She also became chair of the UN's Human Rights Commission. As a member of the Human Rights Commission, she helped to write the Universal Declaration of Human Rights—an effort that she considered to be her greatest achievement.

Dolley Madison The wife of James Madison, President of the United States from 1809 to 1817. She was noted for her social gifts, which boosted her husband’s popularity as President. In this way, she did much to define the role of the President’s spouse, known only much later by the title First Lady—a function she had sometimes performed earlier for the widowed Jefferson. Dolley Madison also helped to furnish the newly constructed White House. When the British set fire to it in 1814, she was credited with saving the classic portrait of George Washington. In widowhood, she often lived in poverty, partially relieved by the sale of her late husband’s papers.

Hillary Clinton As America's first lady, Hillary Rodham Clinton continued to balance public service and private life. Chairing the National Commission on Health Care Reform, she convened hearings around the nation, testified before Congress, and helped craft legislation. She led the fight to pass the Children's Health Insurance Program; worked to increase funding for cancer research and treatment, osteoporosis and juvenile diabetes; and supported the Brady Bill and the assault weapons ban.

Although her activities sometimes led to controversy, Mrs. Clinton won many admirers for her commitment to children's and women's issues. Her book It Takes A Village and Other Lessons Children Teach Us was a best seller and she received a Grammy for her recording of it. Her weekly column drew attention to issues confronting families. In 2000, Hillary Rodham Clinton made history again when, after a 16-month campaign, she was elected to the U.S. Senate by the State of New York.

Jackie Kennedy As First Lady, Kennedy devoted much of her time to planning social events at the White House and other state properties. She often invited artists, writers, scientists, poets, and musicians to mingle with politicians, diplomats, and statesmen. She also began to let guests at The White House drink cocktails, to give the mansion a more relaxed feeling.

Perhaps due to her skill at entertaining, Kennedy proved quite popular among international dignitaries. When Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev was asked to shake President Kennedy's hand for a photo, Khrushchev said, "I'd like to shake her hand first." Kennedy was well received in Paris, France, when she visited with her husband, and when she traveled with Lee to Pakistan and India in 1962.

The restoration of the White House was Kennedy's first major project as First Lady. She was dismayed during her pre-inauguration tour of the White House to find little of historic significance in the house. The rooms were furnished with undistinguished pieces that she felt lacked a sense of history. Her first efforts, begun her first day in residence (with the help of society decorator Sister Parish), were to make the family quarters attractive and suitable for family life. Among these changes was the addition of a kitchen on the family floor and rooms for her children. Upon almost immediately exhausting the funds appropriated for this effort, Kennedy established a fine arts committee to oversee and fund the restoration process and asked early American furniture expert Henry du Pont to consult

Uncle Sam (initials U.S.) is a common national personification of the American government that, according to legend, came into use during the War of 1812 and was supposedly named for Samuel Wilson
