About

The Skinny

Still editing

Because the idea of this project is fundamentally so simple, I am concerned that folks may not really grok the depth, or imagine the really neat possible ramifications of the project by reading the brief description I'm typing up here. but if I explain it enough here to pique your interest, I hope you will investigate more about the project at the project website at: http://www.freepressbible.net Also I hope you will take the time to participate some and help develop and refine the idea.

The Free Press Bible project is being created to enable deep self examination and self guided philosophical instruction. It is oriented around maintaining a personalized collection of recordings referred to as articles. There is no prescribed limit to it's scope. In depth social engagement is promoted by an Internet enabled interface that allows (optionally) users to compare their collections with those of others (of their choosing) and have discussions that are prompted by the discovery of commonalities and differences made apparent by similarities and/or dissimilarities of the articles that make up each users respective collections.

The project is a mixed media publication that includes an interactive website, A printed product within a special binder, and a set of Free and open source software tools. There is no organization to join. Users can use the FOSS tools however they please within the guidelines of the GPL and Creative Commons licenses which guarantee the continued rights of everyone to create of derivative (even commercial) works).
