We have achieved $1500, and we are so close to our final goal. We'd like to take a moment to thank all of our backers, you are responsible for getting us this far. 'The Met' is starting to take shape. From what was a kernel of an idea in Michael's mind, this 'little ensemble that could' is going to have a future in 2015, because of you.
We've asked a few associated with 'The Met' to write a few thoughts about what the first concert was like and they have kindly obliged. Sascha Kelly, our conductress, is the first cab off the rank. If you couldn't make our concert - this is how it felt. If you did, we hope you agree with her.

A few weeks have passed since our first performance, and I’ve been greeted at my desk today with the news that Andy Aronowicz published a lovely blog detailing what happened at the first concert. You can read that here: http://bit.ly/1vrIG8T
I can say that I’m really thankful for the players and the audience for bringing such an undeniable sense of joy to the performance space. I remember vividly thinking during Tchaikovsky that I didn’t need to worry about anything except communicating my musical thoughts. And the players reciprocated. That’s a special feeling. I also had a cheeky glance around the audience during Anastasia’s piece to see how excited everyone was to hear this fresh, energetic sound. That was the real point for me of this adventure. To show that all music should be able to sit, side by side, celebrated for the emotion it can bring, regardless of the ego that created it. (Not saying anything about your egos, composers!)
It’s also humbling to realise that after years of dreaming up programs and saying, ‘…why don’t I just get my own ensemble together….’, that everyone is so willing to get behind us and help. We have made $1500 and are still climbing. What a thrill. It’s been an amazing journey since I first was approached by Michael to join the team, and I can’t quite believe that this first milestone has just flown past. I’m not too bothered about looking back though, because so many goals are still yet to be achieved!
I hope you’ll keep checking in – new ways of keeping in contact with us are just around the corner.
