Well hello there, stranger. Welcome to the last place you'd like to wake up in, and the only place that, to the bold souls roaming the wasteland, still gives any hope for the future - Edengrad. Let me tell you all about it.

• Touching on your favorite themes: post-apocaliptic world, freedom of sandbox gameplay, survival, crafting,
• The game will be available for Windows, Mac and Linux

• Coming early September 2016 to Steam Early Access
Edengrad is a survival MMORPG based on the foundation of post-apo alternative culture and taking cues from such genre classics as Fallout and Mad Max. The game uses sandbox gameplay mechanics, letting the players take their own paths, rather than predefining a goal that needs to be accomplished. The main Focus of Edengrad is survival, construction of the new world, and player-driven development of settlements into cities.
You’ll start with collecting firewood, building primitive shelter, hunting for food, and trying to keep yourself hydrated in the unforgiving wasteland. The next chapter of your virtual life will start once you find some travel mates and decide to formalize your relationship by forming a faction.
Forming a „micro-society” benefits all of its members in ways inaccesible to lone wolfs. Among other things, there’s the ability to start your own settlement – a unique feature of Edengrad. It will serve as your base of operations, a trade center, or a strategically placed stronghold. Upkeeping and developing your settlement into a thriving (in a post-apo sense of the word) city, a gem of the wasteland can be your goal in the game. Or not. It’s up to you. All bets are off, school’s out forever, who’s to tell YOU what to do with your (statistically short) life on the surface?
• Most items from simple tools, to whole towns are crafted by the players.
• Character development freedom with 17 expanded abilities, each with its own skill tree.
• Character’s skills are being developed by using them – want to get better at woodcutting? Go cut wood!
• No unplayable character builds thanks to specially designed attribute system.
• No traditional character classes – a character is what a character does.
• Mechanics allowing players to build or buy whole towns.
• Endgame involving running a whole city, expanding your territory and fighting hostile factions and other towns.
• Procedurally generated content – always lots of things for the players to discover!
• Persistent game world dynamically shaped by the players from landscape, through local politics, to plot.
• Dynamic Click&Slash combat model for streamlined and fun, yet challenging encounters.
• Player VS Player mechanics allowing for rivalry and looting other players.
• A robust economic system imitating real-life free market.
Your forefathers killed Earth. Toxic pollution and dangerous waste produced by neverending global wars turned our planet into a dead wasteland. The surviving few were presented with just two options - three, if you count giving up dying - boarding an interstellar ship to look for a new habitable planet to ruin, or go deep underground to live in the relative safety of giant concrete shelters.
As the years pass the government develops a plan to re-cultivate the surface with a bio-active gas distributed via high-tech Hydra-class Environment Generators. A partial success, as the gas turned out to be unstable, turning some areas habitable again and bringing the blight of mutation to others.
You are a grand-grand-child of the one of shelter's first inhabitants. Adventurous, defiant, and sick of living under tons of rock and dirt over your head. Be it your bravery, bravado, or boredom, you become one of the first mercenaries to step out into the daylight and explore the newly-transformed surface.
With very limited resources your home-shelter could provide, you'll be depending on your wits and survival instincts to stay alive and build a new existence for yourself. What will your future hold? What strange creatures await in the wild? Whatever happened to the colony ships? It's up to you and other mercenaries like you, to discover what sense the new world makes.
Stay vigilant, stay brave, stay... alive!
So, stranger, thinking about becoming one of Edengrad's mercenaries and planting the seeds of humanity's future in the wasteland? We're ready to accommodate you! It's not an easy life, but it comes with some generous rewards for those willing to be pioneers.
If you'd like to help our cause, but are not ready to take the plunge into the strange and dangerous future world, you can donate some pocket change for our gratitude, supporter bragging rights and a "thank you" email.
First come - first served! The first 200 of true wasteland pioneers get the game on Steam cheaper, as soon as it comes out in Early Access.
The basic tier that gets you the game on Steam is a little more costly. Or - if you choose to back us with something extra, we'll tip the deal with something nice for you: a special backer suit for all your characters to wear and show off in the bleak post-apo reality.
There's a digital Collector's Edition and a hundred of you will get it substantially cheaper than those, who'll wait longer. This tier contains all the rewards from the previous tier plus a digital soundtrack and digital artbook.
The regular copy of the Collectors Edition comes with a nice bonus of 30 units of our in-game currency, that can go straight into your characters pocket or be saved for later. Or, if you're feeling creative, you can support us with 50% more on top of that, to get access to our closed Facebook group that will get the opportunity to shape the gameworld with us and have their name displayed in the game credits for their input.
Do you desire instant and everlasting fame in the land of Edengrad? For just as many as 30 of our generous supporters we've prepared something (*drumroll*) custom made! This tier offers everything from the previous tiers as well as an exclusive in-game helmet, forever associated with your account. A helmet, you'll be able to customize - our team will grant you 2 reasonable requests: want horns? You got horns! Want it in pink... we'll need to think about it. Want your special emblem on the forehead, send it to us and we'll place it there. Nothing dirty, please!
Want instant fame in Edengrad and real life? 20 most fervent supporters will get everything from the previous tier AND a limited-edition Edengrad supporter t-shirt. Shipped worldwide, comes in two color variants.
We're not looking for funding to start our project. It's almost done. The game was originally crowdfunded in its country of origin – Poland – gathering the starting funds with the help of local post-apo fans. The game has also been approved by the Steam Greenlight community, reaching #2 on the top-100 Greenlight games list. We’ve been working on it since 2012 and we’re at the final stretch of development. The fruit of our 4-year labor is almost ready to be harvested.
We need to secure some extra server infrastructure and publicity money, as well as some funds to ensure future support and the development of the expansions we have slated for the game. To that end, we're turning to Kickstarter. Where will the funds go? Pie chart to the rescue!
With your help, we'll be able to launch our game globally to Steam Early Access in the first week of September 2016. In other words - our KS supporters won't have to wait long to play, and will have our gratitude for giving us the means to build the server infrastructure to support a multi-national player community, get the attention of post-apo fans worldwide, and secure the close future of the game's support and development.
Be prepared! That's not only the Boy-scout motto, these are the words to live by in the wasteland. Thinking ahead, we've planned some extra goals, should our campaign exceed its basic funding.
Upon reaching our first stretch goal, we'll make preparations to embark with you on yet another dangerous journey through Edengrad, taking us into the territory of mutants - a humanoid faction of surface-dwellers with their own culture, beliefs and goals. A whole extra storyline, with added locations, NPCs, and quests.
When most basic needs are secured and everyday isn't just about survival anymore, the people need to do something to entertain themselves, don't they? There's nothing like a gladiator arena, where seasoned warriors fight to death with each other or feral beasts - be it for money, fame or fun. This expansion will bring about such a place, along with accompanying NPCs and quests.
Edengrad will depend on the players to animate the world of the post-apo future with alliances, conflicts, trade, and betrayal. It offers a deep social and economical simulation that will serve as the canvas of everyday mercenary life with all of its dangers, and adventure. With this expansion, we'll make Edengrad even more vivid - NPCs forming various factions, each with their own agenda, will add even more dynamics into the game.
We're Huckleberry Games. We think of ourselves as a team of innovators in the MMORPG field. The team led by the project’s founder - Patryk Borowski- consists of roughly ten young and passionate designers, programmers and artists ready to experiment in gaming to the point of controversy. The company is based in Poznań, Poland.
Thank you for taking interest in Edengrad. Please support us in our dream, of bringing our ambitious post-apo world to global gaming community!
Risks and challenges
Creating a game is always challenging. A MMORPG with sandbox mechanics, town-building, crafting and large-scale social and economical simulation sets the bar even higher.
But we've already jumped 95% of its height (where 100% means Steam Early Access launch). The game is its final stages of development, and we're looking to fund some specific aspects of making it available via Steam Early Access to broad gaming audience. Namely: server infrastructure, marketing publicity that will bring in a group of players large enough to fill said servers, and operational funds that will ensure we can provide support and new content to our customers.
The biggest challenge of developing the core experience is already behind us. Our next big goal is to successfully launch and keep the game running on the highest gear.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
