The basic story:
In the end, there was a beginning...
We poisoned the air, polluted the water, and destroyed the land. Now, entire cities roam the desolate Earth on the backs of giants. Robotic mutant hybrids we call BioTanks. Self-contained habitats, they are the only means of survival that the human race has left. With resources almost gone, BioTanks must battle each other for what remains of those resources to keep themselves going. We are scrapping metal for ammo, biomass for fuel, and even using defeated opponent’s inhabitants as slaves to work in the Dred Pits. Welcome to the end of the world, this is BioTank!
Together we can make the next phase of the game into something truly great. But, before we look to the future here's a little bit of the games history.
On a late night in 2013, I couldn't sleep, nor could I work on music or any other loud creative project due to my wife and baby being asleep. So, I lay there and I'm just thinking to myself and all of the sudden BAM! It hit me! Thus, began the late night idea of a card game that would set out to become unlike any other card game out there. It doesn't use a monetary system to get cards into play, in other words you don't use lands to play cards from your hand. I felt that mechanics like that slowed the pace of the game down too much. I also hated the limitations of colours or card classes that some games utilize. And forget about waiting a turn after you play your cards before you can use them!!! So, I said "nope" to using things like that as well. I just wanted to create a simple yet fun and fast paced over the top game that would bring back the feeling of Saturday night with friends around a card table. That game became BioTank. Almost two years in the making, 11 revision stages, a ton of in-depth story writing, and ALOT of hours spent doing art work. It was finally released to a small amount of people for beta testing, and those beta tests went fantastically (is that a word?). So, now we are releasing it to you...the card gamers that love to actually have fun while playing.
I've been an avid card gamer since 1994, I'm sure you can guess what game it was that I, like everyone else, obsessed about lol. In recent times however, (20 years later) the card games I once loved playing, now seem to be too strictly structured, cold, and empty. Almost like the fun attitude they once had has faded away with the years. Personally, if a game isn't fun I don't see a point in playing it.

So, if the game is already done what are we doing on Kickstarter?
The short and simple answer: it took me over a year and a half of hard work, a lot of hours went into artwork alone. I loved every minute of it, but I really don't think you awesome gamers out there want to wait another year for me to create the next set of cards for the expansion of the game do you? Plus, you want to be on your very own playable card right? Or get all kinds of other Kickstarter exclusives! So, I need your help to hire some really amazing artists. That way, I can pump out the expansion set ASAP!

The expansion set of cards are ready and waiting to be made, they are just missing the artwork. That's where you come in, we need your help in raising the money to get these (and more) fantastic artist's work in the next set of BioTank! We are hiring many different artists with different styles to keep the game visually appealing, instead of the same style throughout. That would be boring.
We have some exclusive kickstarter only incentives. Like getting your own one-of-a-kind playable card with your face on it! Or how about becoming a BioTank captain in the storyline, insuring you will be a part of the game itself! A life counter app for your phone that will blow your opponants away. Even go with an old school life counter to keep track of how much win you got going on! Don't take my word for it just check out the awesome perks you get!!!
The primary goal of this Kickstarter is to fund artists for the expansion set of cards for the game. Approximately 50% of the funds raised will be put directly into making and shipping out the perks. Roughly 10% will be Kickstarter fees/payment fees. The remaining 40% will be for commissioning the artists. And, anything over will go to advertising and marketing.
It’s simple. First, pick your favorite BioTank. Next, build your deck consisting of Attack (weapons), Defense (shields), and Action (actions that disrupt gameplay) cards. Then, each player takes turns playing weapon cards to deal damage to the opponent, and defense cards to stop it. When a player's energy points reach 0 they "blow up" and their game ends. However, the action cards change everything, and I mean everything. What makes the game so fun is simplicity, what makes it so crazy over the top is the actions and effects of the cards. The game is all about epic big swing attacks, and crazy side effects of defenses. You don't have to wait a turn after you play a weapon, you fire that bad boy the turn it comes into play. Defense cards have a lot of effects that take place after you defend an attack and make the attacking player regret it. Also, defenses can be played as a reaction to an attack so your opponent won't even see it coming! Actions do all kinds of various rule breaking and altering of how the game mechanics work. Some actions let you literally change places with your opponent, or let you come back to life after you have blown up. There are no absolutes in this game, except absolute fun.

Risks and challenges
Going outside everyday is a risk,
Eating fast food is a risk,
Skydiving off a flying robot shark over a volcano wearing a lime green onesie and using a pack of hotdogs as your parachute... now that's a risk!
Unlike a lot of other Kickstarters THE GAME ITSELF IS ALREADY DONE! There is NO risk to you for the perks that we can foresee at this time. All of the perks are either done, or are just waiting for the campaigning to end so we can write in your name and put your face on the cards!!! Honestly, the only perk that could possibly take a little bit longer to complete is the life counter app for your phone, but the Tech Meister in the Dred Pits creating it has assured me he can, and will have it done by the end of the campaign.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
