I am raising funds for my first official album, Project Night Run. I will use the money to help finish the album and to distribute it after its complete.
I am using various DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) and VSTs (Virtual synthesizers) for this album; in other words, I'm using a whole lot of programs to put this album together. I am making this KickStarter to raise funds for other VSTs and DAWS required to finish and touch up the album. The funds will also go towards physical equipment needed for recording and production, such as external hard drives, recording equipment, and a more efficient computer and speakers for production.
The rest of the funds will go towards album distribution. I will be selling and distributing my album on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and many other platforms. I will also be using the funds to purchase download cards for distribution and promotion.
I plan on having the album completed before the end of the year, and distributed to everyone who helped by December! I will also have tons of other exciting and unique rewards for my supporters, such as Special edition songs, which won't be available for download anywhere else, only for you! One option is an extended version of my song "Feelgoodizer", which will be featured in Project Night Run.
My single, "Zombie (feat. Farisha)" will also be available in Project Night Run! "Zombie" has been featured on UK radios inlcuding TNG and RadioHeart. Pledge $15.00 or more and recieve the album, including this single!
My supporters will also have the chance to receive some of my original illustrations! Here are a few, so you will have an idea of the kind of artwork you'll get.
You can also view more of my work at tylerthrasherart.com
Those who purchase the album, or even donate $5.00 will get my single, Caving.
I would love to have your support in producing my album, and have you be apart of the process! You won't regret it!
Risks and challenges
There are a few potential obstacles with the album production, such as time, collaborations, and technology issues.
I plan on having the album complete by December, which should be plenty of time to complete the project, but I am also a student at Missouri State University. I plan on avoiding any time conflicts, and I haven't run into trouble yet *knock on wood*, but college can often be unpredictable. I will manage my time and work flow as efficiently as possible, and stick by my plan of producing the album by December.
I will also be collaborating with various vocalists. There shouldn't be any issues concerning that, as the vocalists are very reliable and have followed through on numerous occasions regarding collaborations.
Technology is always an issue, especially when making electronic music. That is why I plan on using funds to obtain very reliable equipment, but technology is also unpredictable, and could decide to screw me over in an instant. I plan on having multiple external hard drives for backups and backup-backups, that way my progress will always be recorded, and I can make sure my album gets out to everyone!
