Welcome to the Kickstarter for the second volume of THE CREATORS!
As of May 22nd we hit our $6500 goal and are now aiming for our second stretch goal!
STRETCH GOAL #1: $6500: ACHIEVED! -- COVER UPGRADE + SPECIAL PINUP!
STRETCH GOAL #1: $8000: SKETCHBOOK AND PINUP SECTION: --Over the years I have gotten to work with some incredible artists and some of them did some incredible pinups inspired by the creators universe. If we hit $8,000 I will add in a few of my favorites. On top of that I will compile all of my favorite sketches from the production of volume 2 and create a sketchbook section for the book.
STRETCH GOAL #3 - $10,000: UNLOCKED! -- GUEST COMICS! If we manage to get this far I will be able to extend the book with comics written and drawn by guest creators that expand and flesh out The Creators universe! These take place in times and scenarios well outside what is covered in my narrative within the book so it gives a good global sense to the book.
NEW For Backers Only...
When the idea for The Creators was new I did a lot of concept art but it was this drawing that spawned the overarching story and themes of the book. The design for Kardunn changed a lot as I began the book but this is where it all started!
THE STORY OF THE CREATORS
The Creators is a science fiction graphic novel series about a small portion of the world's young population who suddenly develop the power to bring their imaginations to life through their drawings. This power, fueled by adolescent emotion, is simultaneously awesome and extraordinarily dangerous as Creators are only limited by their imaginations. The series follows a group of young creators and their fantastic creations as they try an carve out their place in a world that hates and fears them.
In 2016 I successfully kickstarted The Creators, Volume 1: Imagination Is Power which began the story of Maya and her creation, Kardunn as they were brought to the Creator Academy under the nefarious headmistress, Morgan Etain.
Now, two years later, I am back with the conclusion of this story arch and am proud to bring you The Creators, Volume 2: Strength in Unity which will complete the story arch I began 6 years ago!
The $5000 I am trying to raise with this campaign will be used to fund the printing of the full color, print edition of Volume 2 of The Creators. It will include chapters 7 through 12 of the comic - over 200 pages - that I have been working on for the last few years. I have put together a few really exciting rewards for you to help me get to this goal…
Anything raised over the $5000 will be put towards some exciting stretch goals that will improve the print quality or extend and add content to the book
STRETCH GOAL #1: $6500: COVER UPGRADE + SPECIAL PINUP! If we can hit this first stretch goal I am going to upgrade the covers to have spot UV and make them all extra special! We got to do this for volume 1 and it really made the cover something special! In addition I will take my 5 year old daughter's drawing of Mr HugZ and color it in the style of The Creators and add it as a pinup in the back of the book.

STRETCH GOAL #2 - $8000: SKETCHBOOK AND PINUPS. Over the years I have gotten to work with some incredible artists and some of them did some incredible pinups inspired by the creators universe. If we hit $8,000 I will add in a few of my favorites. On top of that I will compile all of my favorite sketches from the production of volume 2 and create a sketchbook section for the book.

STRETCH GOAL #3 - $10,000: Guest Comics! If we manage to get this far I will be able to extend the book with comics written and drawn by guest creators that expand and flesh out The Creators universe! These take place in times and scenarios well outside what is covered in my narrative within the book so it gives a good global sense to the book.
Thank you all for taking a look at The Creators. Whether this is your first look or you're returning to finish the journey, I really appreciate you and hope to get the chance to add to this universe!
Risks and challenges
One of the biggest challenges when creating a comic of any kind is hitting a deadline. I am fortunate to have the entire book completely written, illustrated and designed so there are virtually no risks in completing the content in a timely fashion.
That leaves printing. I have made sure to research the printer that I will be using and have even met the team. Kraken print has a great reputation for producing quality books in a timely fashion. That said, there may be some delays with shipping that are out of my control. I will keep every backer updated as we progress so they know exactly what to expect and when to expect it!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
