Albert & Otto is a story about a boy and a magical bunny who journey together and solve puzzles in order to get back what was taken from them. Albert and Otto work together to overcome challenges thrown their way. However we soon learn that what seemed at first like a journey to save the damsel in distress is anything but and that our hero Albert might be hiding something dark.
A 2D Physics based cinematic platformer, the game requires the player to solve a series of puzzles with his sidekick. Albert and Otto must work together to solve puzzles. They cannot wander too far from each other however, Albert must use Otto in creative ways, such as leaving him to hold down a switch, press a button or push a lever while Albert executes his own actions simultaneously in order to get them both through the puzzle. The player is mainly in control of Albert but he may control Otto to an extent, such as using him to power a generator or flip a switch.
Albert & Otto is a story that I've been wanting to tell for some time now, as a filmmaker and designer I have always wanted to combine storytelling and design into an interactive format, my love of video games and the impact they had on my life growing up inspired me to create games of my own and tell my stories through this powerful and unique medium.
I started work on Albert & Otto a little over a year ago, the mission was to tell the story that I felt needed to be heard, it is based on events from our history which aren't widely known and at the same time create a game that I would enjoy playing and hopefully others would too. What started as a sideline project that i worked on in my spare time soon turned into a full time obsession and I have since been dedicating most of time to it.
It took some effort to develop the game to this point and at the same time keep working a full time job but it turned out that it was well worth it, when i released the playable demo to the public people really seemed to love playing it, this was always the hope but the support was just overwhelmingly great, Albert & Otto was green-lit by the Steam Community in just 5 days and this more than anything else made me decide to put everything else aside and focus solely on finishing this game to the best of my ability.
And so we come to Kickstarter, in order to complete this game I will need another 10 months of full time work on it, refining and adding onto what I have created already as well as adding another two large worlds complete with their own unique mechanics, enemies and bosses amounting to roughly 6 hours of gameplay. Aside from the SFX and music I have thus far worked on this game alone and have put in everything I have to get it to this point, I'm all in. This is where you guys come in, the funds I ask for will allow me to focus on Albert & Otto full time and deliver the game by the end of the year. In addition to the minimal living expenses for the next 10 months this will cover the costs of producing the full sound track which is absolutely vital to the game, smaller expenses such as continuing software subscriptions and marketing and of course all the cool rewards I have lined up for you guys :)

*edit - The website is currently down, working on having it back up in a few hours. Please check back later. Apologies for inconvenience. Thank you.
I ask you to check out the playable alpha version of the demo as well as the Albert & Otto website and if this is something you would like to support and ultimately experience I would be forever grateful for your contribution.
Risks and challenges
At this point in time the design, story, core mechanics and framework of the game are in a near complete state, what is left is to refine what is already in place and add more content. Since I am the only person working on this game the risks are limited. It is possible as with any project of this nature that it runs behind schedule for various reasons however in this case it is completely within my control and my 10+ years of experience with working on large design and animation projects for clients on tight deadlines has taught me how to estimate and has made me aware of what i am and am not capable of achieving in a set period of time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
