Free new book on crowd-funding

Posted by Emily Grosvenor (Creator)

Hi Tessa fans!

Just a quick update.

Tessalation! is, with your help, getting rave reviews and finding footing within the math educator community. I continue to reach out to math educator websites to let people know about the book, and I've become a bit of a math picture book nerd in the process. Here's a list I made for a math education website of my favorites:

In the past year, I've become a bit of a Kickstarter nerd and have followed the children's book market closely. I see a lot of people putting project up there that get 0% funding and haven't thought about how to make the right project for people who need it. I don't claim to know everything about crowd-funding, but serving you all has taught me a lot about creating The Thing the world needs for people who believe in it.

I'm currently finishing up an e-book to help people do better. I'll be sending it FREE to all of the people who sign up for my newsletter in the month before I launch the book.

Do you want to get this book when it comes out? You can sign up on the site (put your email in the pop-up when it appears):

I firmly believe that the Kickstarter platform can be a launching pad to change the world of children's publishing and have invested the time in this project in order to not let the knowledge I've accumulated stay locked in my grey matter. If you're curious about the process, please do sign up.

What's next for me? Well, I'm thinking about other ideas for new math books. My kids and I have gotten a little sloth-obsessed lately. I'm not quite ready to say: THERE WILL BE SLOTHS, but the pistons are firing well. Wish me luck!

Tessellating as always,

Emily

You're awesome Emily! Congrats on making your book happen and I'm excited to read what your action items are in running a successful Kickstarter for kids books. I have some more math related stories on the rise too : )
