September 2nd 2017: Arte Americas & JazzHop Fresno present The Ambassadors Latin Jazz orchestra. Doors/Salsa dancing at 6pm, show begins at 7pm.
Under the direction of Steve Alcala, the Ambassadors feature 20 Latin Jazz musicians from the Central Valley, performing a set of hot salsa music for dancers. Proceeds from the show will go towards instrument purchases and scholarships for current RHS students. A 50/50 raffle will raise additional funds for the school, and Alumni are encouraged to donate Roosevelt photos & memorabilia to benefit RHS Bands.
GA tickets are $25 & VIP tickets start at $55. Table packages include hors d'oeuvres, two alcoholic drinks per person and unlimited non-alcoholic beverages.
David Hull returns to Fresno from New Orleans to open the show with his band, the Funk Noise Orchestra. Dance lessons, led by Rowan Hernandez of TropiSoul Salsa will kick off the show at 6pm.
Risks and challenges
We have enlisted the talents of more than two dozen local artists to produce this show. We need your financial support to produce a professional, fun and safe event, so please give generously! Proceeds will benefit RHS Bands program, which fostered much of the talent being featured at JazzHop.
In December 2016 the producers of JazzHop organized Fiesta Americana in Fresno's Tower Theatre. That show contributed to a $500 scholarship given to a RHS music student, and we hope Roosevelt start its school year with more funds on Sept. 2nd 2017.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
