Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, we are a group of community members deeply passionate about people, coffee and the place we call home, our roots. As House Roots Coffee, we believe in providing affordable, freshly brewed coffee from the best roasters from around the world and inviting our customers to partner with us in "cup for a cause." Profits from each brew, pastry, etc. will be divided and dedicated to local community programs, relief efforts, and non-profit projects overseas. In doing so, we aim to inspire our community to invest in people and use the power of their dollar to do more. In everything we do, we believe in walking with people from start to finish, whether this means caring about the last cup of coffee as much as we did the first or remaining committed to the causes we support. House Roots Coffee is dedicated to these three core values: Coffee, Community, Cause.
After nearly three years of being nomadic, House Roots Coffee finally returns to the San Fernando Valley. With each cup sold, we grew closer to having our dream become a reality: we purchased grinders, espresso machines, and all the essential equipment you would need for a proper brick & mortar shop. After three exciting years as pop-ups, it’s good to finally be back home.
STRETCH GOAL: $15,000!
We're reaching for the stars! With our initial campaign goal 100% funded, we were able to cover contractor fees and permitting costs! Thanks to you, our backers, we have a functional coffee shop in our sights!
However, we don't want to stop at just being functional. We want you all to have the best experience possible. We're asking all of you to continue partnering with us to reach a stretch goal of $15,000! The extra $8,000 on top of our original campaign goal will go towards:
- Custom seating areas to share coffee and community together.
- Concrete molded pendant lighting across the bar.
- Shelving to showcase our featured coffee roasters and causes.
- Signage, menu boards, etc.
IF WE COMPLETE OUR STRETCH GOAL...
All reward backers will receive:
- Invitations to our Friends & Family soft opening week.
- A limited run of our custom printed risograph posters- specifically made for our backers (designed by Brooklyn based illustrator Vincy Cheung. Each poster will be numbered and signed).
Risks and challenges
We’ve been hard at work and the foundations are set. We’ve signed the lease, drafted up the floor plans, and are in the process of building out. We’re almost there. As we push to open up shop in the next few months, all we need now is for you to be a part of the story. We're raising funds to ensure that we'll be able to open up shop on schedule. Funds will be allocated to contractor fees and materials costs for the build-out.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
