"We’re just a few months away from phase one of Classroom Aquatic’s launch, which is to release on Daydream mobile devices. There’ll be more news coming on that as the date approaches. Once we’ve launched on Daydream, we’ll turn our efforts and attention to the PC headsets, such as the Vive and Rift, and the PSVR. "

Okay, so "just a few months" turned into six month. With still zero news "There’ll be more news coming on that as the date approaches" Should we expect the game to come out in 2018?

Also, What's your plan for "Phase 2" ? I Do hope that you'll push something out for Occulus/Vive/PC first?

What happened to your partnership with Sony?

    2. Sunken Places Creator on December 14

You guys all definitely deserve an update. Apologies for the radio silence.
A lot of what we've been doing is pretty unexciting and headache inducing, mostly dealing with working out publishing, fitting the game into release checklists and dealing with nastier bugs (You no longer float away from your desk! Woo!) and I've been biting my nails trying to think of how to make "We've reduced the game's size by half by better compressing files!" sound really funny.
Even so, you all deserve to know how everything is going. I'll begin working on an update that should give you all a look inside the development process so far, and that has at least three or four eye-rolling bad puns.

It's been a whale since you last came up for air, I can't believe it's on porpoise. The fates of all our educations hang in the balance, for with out you, we would have to Study!
We're not your Anemone, we believe in you, that's why we backed. We are curious, not furious.
But Shorely you understand that Six Months on a Sand Bar with nothing to do be feed Sea Gulls can be mighty boring, we'd really love some Tales from the Deep, and only you can provide.
Heck, even Fish Tails would be better than this salty silence.
So please, an update. We'll leave the Light House on, all you have to do is type.

I would love an update on this project, we've had radio silence for several months.

I think an update on this project is long, long overdue. Please provide for everyone, thanks.

Here's hoping things are still happening with Classroom Aquatic. Though my initial pledge was made with the bet that delays would mean I'd be able to purchase a VR system around the time it came out. I haven't bought my VR system yet so you still have some time. Any updates? Are you in fact waiting for me to buy VR first?

What a strange project this has been. I do believe that it will come out eventually, but I couldn't even begin to guess at when.

      on June 2, 2017

I guess that will be all, then.

    9. Alexis Maes on May 22, 2017

I'm glad that I jumped ship actually, for any backers unsure about what's happening, seems like this game is in dead waters at the moment.

it was supposed to come out in 2014, December
In december 2014 they announced this :

"After speaking with Oculus and Sony, we decided to push the release of the game to May of 2015. We'll be using this extra time to further develop the game, and to put it on as many platforms as possible."

Okay, sounds reasonable, every kickstarter project has some delays after all.

a YEAR later in january 2016, this is the new update :

"As of yet, we don't have a specific release date for Classroom Aquatic, as its tied to PS VR's release and that hasn't been nailed down either. Outside of unforeseen obstacles on either end, our plan is to release both PS and PC versions at the same time."

Since the game was ready to be ship-ed a YEAR earlier the only hangout had to be a deal with sony in the back of the PC backers, right ? (at that point PS Vr didn't even had a release date BTW)

Comes and goes the PSVR in October, only for a new message in March 7 :

"We're putting together another update for the next week. We apologize for the silence, but hope that what we've got to show will make up for it!"

      No update of course.

Now, I think that either the game is having real troubles and delays and the team asked an actual dolphin to handle the communication for them.
OR the game is not happening and you have been swindled.

Either way, proper devs should come clean and talk to the people that gave them money, explain the whys and the when.

What you should do is ask for a refund and buy the game when it comes out.

Come on, team - level with us. Whatever the hold up continues to be, I'm sure we'll understand.

    11. Esca Jensen on April 26, 2017

Well, based on previous comments I'm going to assume this isn't happening. What a pity.

      Hey there,

Was looking forward to the update you mentioned would be coming this week. Hope to see it soon.

      Hey there Will!

Alright, well... Seems like this one is dead in the water. Hello? Anyone home?

    15. Alexis Maes on February 10, 2017

Thanks to the devs, I'll follow Classroom Aquatic's dev and I hope that you'll release the game in a good state. While the delays, miscomunications and backroom deals with Sony didn't exactly pleased me, the game still holds my interest.

May the Water under your fins bear you where the sun sails and the moon walks,

    16. Alexis Maes on February 10, 2017

I would not mind getting a refund. Do I have to pass by Kickstarter or will you guys do it the correct way ?

    19. Sunken Places Creator on November 18, 2016

Very soon! In fact, we're just finishing an update on the very matter! Just getting the screenshots taken and making sure all the ocean puns are sufficiently eye-roll inducing.

If it's good, all will be forgiven.

    22. Russell Barretti on November 8, 2016

Yeah umm it's been 2.8 years. What the fuck. Very shitty of you guys to push it for so long just for one port. I was willing to wait 6 months but come on. This is awful. Another year??? (or Q4 this year?). Even if it is releasing this year the rest still stands. Pretty crummy.

    23. Sunken Places Creator on November 4, 2016

      Hey there everyone!

We're just putting together an update that'll be out this coming week. It'll go over where we are in development, our plans for our Q4 release, and show some of the cool stuff we've been working on!

We gave money to fund a PC game. Not to make a PS4 game. It's been delayed for MONTHS to be on PSVR. Now PSVR has been released: Where's my game ??
Can we at least have updates or news ??

    26. Alexis Maes on October 26, 2016

So, the PS vr is out now, can the PC people have our game two years late ?

      Hey there,

Would be great to get an update on the latest goings-on, thanks!

    28. Esca Jensen on August 22, 2016

will you ever do a mac or linux version (for those of us without a pc!)

    29. Alexis Maes on May 9, 2016

Hey, when I backed the game, I did it for the PC version, do you think that it's fair to wait for Sony's VR thing (that doesn't have a release date yet) while most of the people that gave you money hoped for a PC version ?

Also, are you planning to make a Vive version ?

    30. Sunken Places Creator on January 18, 2016

      Hey there Will!
As of yet, we don't have a specific release date for Classroom Aquatic, as its tied to PS VR's release and that hasn't been nailed down either. Outside of unforeseen obstacles on either end, our plan is to release both PS and PC versions at the same time.

    31. Will O'Neill
      on January 18, 2016

Can you please release an update clarifying exactly what the PS VR release now means to the overall release schedule as a whole? Will you finish and release the PC / Steam version first, or will everything be released simultaneously? And when do you expect that will be?

    32. Sunken Places Creator on September 17, 2015

      Hey there Mark!

We have two updates in the queue, one of which should be ready to send out this week (we're waiting on a few screenshots before we publish it).

The second update will be a really big one-- something we've been working on for a long time!

As well, we're setting up a new developer's blog on our website in order to have smaller, more frequent updates about how development is going-- we have a lot of stuff we want to show everyone, and this'll give us a great way to share it all.

    33. Mark Terrano on September 17, 2015

Any new update ? Last update was June. Is there a new target date/ Is it waiting until the retail release of the HMD's? Feeling like a forgotten backer about now.

Marcel. They're holding the release back so that they can release the game on more platforms instead of releasing the complete PC version now.

I have never been sent a copie of this game, could it be sent now?

    37. Jessica Taylor on February 2, 2015

When can we expect to get another full update on game progress? It's been a pretty long time

    38. Russell Barretti on January 1, 2015

Can you at least release a PC dk2 demo for those who have been waiting patiently?

    39. Sunken Places Creator on December 17, 2014

      Hey there Mark!
After speaking with Oculus and Sony, we decided to push the release of the game to May of 2015. We'll be using this extra time to further develop the game, and to put it on as many platforms as possible.

    40. Mark Terrano on December 17, 2014

Is there a good chance the game will make it out before Christmas this year (2014)? It says December but I was wondering more about Dec 25th ish.

    41. a.joseph.lee on August 6, 2014

Yeah, I'd like to second Sean's interest in a DK2 demo.

Hey there.. hope all is going well in the development of Classroom Aquatic! I just recently got my DK2, and would love to play the demo on it while I await the full version. Just wondering if you guys are going to update the demo to be compatible with DK2 to tide us over for the full version? I don't know how much work it would be to do that, so if you don't have time as you are working on the full version, I understand, just though I'd ask. Thanks.

    43. Jessica Taylor on July 10, 2014

I just wanted to confirm that it is expected that all physical, non-game rewards won't go out until about the same time the game itself will be (est. Dec 2014).
I haven't seen anything that specifically addressed that yet.

Other than that I'm unbelievably excited - I hope there's another update coming up soon.
