THE Organizations: Double Agent Group Card Game
Double Agent is a fast paced, spy based group game. The game is fun for group events, conventions, or slumber parties.
The Mission Admin gathers together a group of up to 19 players and he/she sits them in a circle, so that everyone can see one another. The Mission Admin then walks among the group allowing them to randomly choose a card from the deck. The players take their card, look at it quickly and then hide it so the other players cannot tell if they are an Agent, a Double Agent, or a Psychic. The Mission Admin then narrates a story of the group undertaking various missions to fight terrorism. During the course of the missions’ story something happens (an explosion, a smoke grenade, lights go out, etc) that impedes the players from seeing. The Mission Admin then has all players close their eyes. With the players blinded the Mission Admin then calls for the Double Agents (and nobody else) to open their eyes and silently choose an Agent to dispose of. Once done, they close their eyes and it is time for the Psychic player to open their eyes and attempt to guess the identity of the Double Agents. The Psychic player then closes his eyes again. The players are then allowed to open their eyes to find that one of their own has been eliminated. Now they must decide who among them the culprit is. By means of a majority vote one of the remaining Agents from the group is then assassinated as a traitor. Play proceeds in this manner until either the Double Agents are found by the Agents and eliminated or until the Agents all fall victim to the Double Agents. There will be plenty of suspicions but the group must come to a consensus in order to eliminate someone from play. If they choose wisely they eliminate the Double Agent and they win but if their choice is poor then they eliminate one of their own and they continue on to another mission where disaster will surely strike again.
The object for the Double Agents in the game is to try to find that correct mix of pointing fingers at others while not really drawing attention to themselves. The object for the Agents is to try to figure out who the Double Agent is before they are all eliminated. The object for the Psychic is to try to locate the Double Agent before they or the agents are all eliminated. In the end the Double Agents want to get rid of all the Agents, and the Agents want to get rid of all the Double Agents.
What makes this a little different from other group games is this is a fast paced spy based game, so if there is no majority vote to accuse someone and kick them out of the group then play continues and the double agents get an unimpeded chance to get rid of more agents, so you better be quick on your feet and be able to make some hasty decisions!!!
Why we need a kick start
We are looking for backing for Double Agent because we would like to have professional boxes made and have professional cards made with rounded corners. We have thus far, made the boxes ourselves, we have purchased some cards and we have gone through six scrap-booking corner punches, rounding the card corners ourselves. We have put in our own personal money just to get our game out there, to be played. We have had a great deal of interest in our game and we would like to begin to sell the game at conventions we attend and through gaming stores, so we would like to have a professional product to sell that showcases what our gaming company can do.
