If you carry a ton of stuff in your wallet, this is not for you.
Wallets are very personal items. They hold important things. They fit your needs and lifestyle. And they reflect your personality. For us, we love to be minimal.
The Elemental Wallet simply holds what you need in life. In today's society, the internet and online banking has taken over the majority of our purchasing needs. Cash transactions are rapidly declining. Most people can get by with carrying their ID, two to three credit/debit cards, a bus pass, and maybe their insurance cards. But if you need to carry more cards, Elemental Wallet can hold up to 25 of them.
We've been through many iterations
Making a wallet may seem easy, but is actually quite involved. The perfect wallet for one person will not be the perfect one for another. This means we had to meticulously pick through features, material, ease of use, and price points.
The first wallet we've experienced was very cumbersome to use and did not hold cards well. The band broke after a few months and it was hard to find a suitable replacement.
Steel was too heavy, had sharp edges, and wasn't quite what we were looking for.
Aluminum was great in terms of weight, aesthetics, and features, but was incredibly expensive to manufacture.
Carbon fiber turned out to be a great material for what we were trying to achieve. It could be machined to include features like chamfers and pockets while being lightweight (34grams) and affordable to manufacture.
It is also naturally RFID blocking and super durable.
While the Elemental Wallet is meant to be a minimalistic, it still packs a bunch of handy features.
The push slot allows quick extraction of cards by popping them out of the wallet with one fluid movement.
The rubber bands used in the design allow the user to easily replace the bands if they break. It can hold other items like cash, card, or keys for quick easy access.
Adding cards is super easy with the hand polished edge. Simply slide them in!
Let's not forget that the push slot doubles as a bottle cap opener or phone stand.

Risks and challenges
The Elemental Wallet has been in design phase for nearly a year now. The team lived with each iteration for several weeks or months to see if it performed up to expectations. The current design is finalized as exceeding expectations in design and function.
The next big challenge is now production. Mass producing these wallets with high quality control will test our machines consistency and repeatability.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
