(Update: All pledges of In Memoriam and above automatically receive the Players Guide PDF as part of the reward package. The Players Guide is in the traditional Savage Worlds format, and contains everything from the main book the players need to create characters, learn new Setting Rules, and receive an overview of the setting, without the risk of spoilers.)
WORLD OF THE DEAD is a stand-alone sequel to War of the Dead (having played through War of the Dead is not required). Some of the things included in the book are:

The Pledge Levels
Everyone gets their name printed in the front of World of the Dead along with the title of the Pledge that matched your total dollar amount.
Not only that, but when you Pledge a level, you automatically get the new reward that unlocks for that level and ALL rewards from the previous levels. The only exceptions are the highest two levels (Handler and Puppeteer) so make sure you read those to make sure you understand what they offer.

The World of the Dead Kickstarter gives you several ways to support production of the book as well as get the cool rewards you're after. In addition to the normal Pledge levels, we've also broken down some of the rewards and made them available as Add-Ons to your pledge, allowing you to customize how you want to support production!
A survey will be sent at the end of the Kickstarter to make sure we get the right Add-Ons out to you.

$8,000: A 30,000 word novella for World of the Dead authored by BEN MONROE (One of the Living, for AFMBE from Eden Studios). (Est Date: June 2013)
At this goal, both the Novella and GM Screen Inserts are unlocked for Living Dead Bait and above.
$10,000: Custom World of the Dead Bennies designed by Aaron Acevedo! These are 10 gram, fully designed poker chips from completely blank manufacturing templates. Each set will contain 12 Bennies! (Est Date: July 2013)
At this goal, the World of the Dead Bennies are unlocked for Bounty Hunter and above.
Additionally, everyone Living Dead Food and above gets the GM Screen Inserts, and all pledge levels get the Novella.
$13,000: A set of dice with a custom World of the Dead d6. The dice are unlocked for Bounty Hunter and above. (Est Date: July 2013)
Additionally, the Custom Bennies are unlocked for Living Dead Hunter and above.
$16,000: Daring Entertainment will release the Hellbrood Plot Point Campaign Setting, detailing the super-heroic event as alien invaders determined to eradicate all life in the universe turn Earth into a zombie apocalypse.
Hellbrood uses both the Savage Worlds RPG and the Super Powers Companion from Pinnacle Entertainment, and comes complete with new Edges, new Hindrances, Setting Rules, full details on Hellbrood New York, Super-Villains and Heroes, and details on the Necroleans and their universal conquest. The Plot Point campaign and Savage Tales will take the player-heroes from Novice rank all the way to Legendary, at which time they'll face the ancient power behind the Hellbrood in a final battle to save the universe and restore the Earth (see the FAQ for more information).
At this level, the Hellbrood campaign setting is unlocked for Bounty Hunter and above in an exclusive hardcover format. (Est Date: October 2013)
Additionally, the World of the Dead dice become unlocked for Living Dead Hunter and above.
We have more Stretch Goals waiting as well, with further unlocks for various pledge levels. We'll reveal more as the time comes!
How much of World of the Dead is already done?
Currently, some of the book has been written by Lee F. Szczepanik, Jr., and the campaign has completed play test. The Kickstarter will allow us to get the writers moving on their parts, get the artists to work, and get the book released.
When will production start on the book?
The freelance staff will be given the green light to begin the same day the funding goal is reached. Even if the Kickstarter still has time remaining to achieve its Stretch Goals, the very day the total reaches $5,000 is the same day the remaining production begins.
When will World of the Dead release?
Barring any significant delays, below are the expected dates for the World of the Dead and rewards.

March 2013: War of the Dead hardcover editions, Hellbrood: Countdown to Invasion softcover edition.
June 2013: World of the Dead PDF, Exclusive adventure PDFs, War of the Dead Alternate beginning PDF.
July 2013: World of the Dead hardcover, World of the Dead adventure trilogy softcover, War of the Dead alternate beginning softcover. This gives us time to get them printed and shipped to us, and then packaged and shipped to you.
Keep in mind with the above dates that it is also quite possible the books could be released early, it just isn't anything we can promise at this stage.
What are the exclusive World of the Dead adventures about?
Naturally, we aren't about to give away spoilers. The adventures are self-contained, but also have an overall theme that connects them into a trilogy. As a trilogy, they reveal a secret about the setting and some other facets of what is going on.
We understand that not everyone can back a Kickstarter, however, and want to assure all you folks that while the adventures provide an extra layer to the setting, those that can't back the project and get the exclusives will not be at a disadvantage.
What can you tell us about the playable Living Dead?
The playable Living Dead are an evolution of Evelyn and Johnnie, two experimental Living Dead introduced in War of the Dead: Chapter Four. As can be expected, something went horribly wrong between then and now, and their version of the infection was able to spread.
Much like the GMs can do with the NPCs, players will be given options to further customize their playable Living Dead.
Of course, how these Living Dead fit into survivor society is an entirely different matter covered in the book and at your table.
Are the Savage Tales for the Living Dead General pledge level in place of the Savage Tales you guys would be writing?
Not at all. We will still be doing the Plot Point Campaign and the near 30 Savage Tales traditionally associated with a Savage Worlds setting. The Savage Tales we work with you to create will contain a By Line, clearly displaying that not only did you write the tale, but that it is in addition to the expected amount of content from us.
The Create a Savage Tale bonus is to allow you to add your own mark on the setting for everyone to enjoy, not do our work for us.
What is the section in the hardcover on War of the Dead's design evolution?
Lee F. Szczepanik, Jr. has spoken often that War of the Dead went through different permutations before the version everyone has come to know was released. But what were those changes, and what might War of the Dead (and World of the Dead) have been instead?
In the Kickstarter Exclusive section of World the Dead, Lee F. Szczepanik, Jr. goes through each chapter of War of the Dead, focusing on those adventures that were originally intended to go a different way, and explains what changed before release and why.
For example, did you know that War of the Dead was originally to include vampires? Where were the vampires originally to appear in the campaign? What influence on the overall story and the origin of the Living Dead would they have played? How would the chapters and adventures have gone had the vampires made it into the final version?
What is the War of the Dead alternate beginning?
War of the Dead currently starts on the Pinnacle cruise ship, and was a great way to bring the players together by hitting them with the outbreak in a confined space and in the middle of the ocean.
However, Lee F. Szczepanik, Jr., has also mentioned a different beginning to the saga that started in a major city. This version is a 6-part miniseries that starts the characters off in a very different situation, involving mass panic and confusion, military quarantine, and introduces Hell Fuerrie and his gang in a different way. The alternate beginning links with the established Chapter One (Week 7) Adventure, with GM notes on how to adjust a couple of NPC reactions in Week 7 to account for the new back story of the player-characters.
If I don't back the Kickstarter, can I still get the book?
World of the Dead will be released in PDF through OneBookShelf, and in softcover through our partnership with Chronicle City (providing, of course, the funding goal is reached), after the Kickstarter backers get their copies. The retail version will not contain the essay on the evolution of War of the Dead's design.
Is Hellbrood part of the same setting?
Hellbrood is not part of the War/World of the Dead setting. Hellbrood is Daring Entertainment's super-hero/zombie style apocalypse setting for Savage Worlds, and uses the Super Powers Companion. It's included in the Kickstarter because it fits with the general zombie theme, and is something we would love to get out to you.
Hellbrood is inspired by things like DC Comics' Blackest Night, Peter Clines' Ex-Heroes and Ex-Patriots, and similar works. It is a super-hero setting at its core, where Earth has become the target of an alien race determined to eradicated all life in the universe. Using advanced biotechnology, they create the dreaded Hellbrood— a form of Living Dead. Not even the super-powered community is completely immune.
The heroes not only have to save Earth from the invaders and the Hellbrood, but must also contend with the super-villains moving to take advantage of the apocalypse.
By the end of the plot point campaign, the heroes will have a chance to battle the powerful evil behind the invasion and the Hellbrood, and restore the Earth. But the setting doesn't end there. The super-heroic line for Savage Worlds will then branch off into new and different plot point campaigns, including alternate dimensions, time travel, and more. Several of those future campaigns have their seeds planted in Hellbrood: Countdown to Invasion and the Hellbrood setting book.
Hellbrood has already launched in PDF with the six-adventure miniseries book, Hellbrood: Countdown to Invasion (with material by Clint Black), and the free adventure, Hellbrood Ultimate Agenda. There have also been two 1,500 word stories published for Hellbrood in the FREE Savage Insider #4 (Datafile 5.07.3, Subject: Mimeo) and Savage Insider #5 (Flesh Games) that give a look into the setting.
Risks and challenges
We're raising funds to finish work on the book and get it into your hands. Although stand-alone, it also combines with War of the Dead to form a massive storyline that takes the group from the first days of the Outbreak, and to humanity's last hope several years later.
