Daring Comics RPG Rulebook PDF---- SENT
Hey folks, the rulebook PDF has been sent to all backers. Please watch your spam email, as the PDF is coming as a Complimentary Copy from OneBookShelf (RPGNow and DriveThruRPG). You do not have to have an account with them to claim it.
No doubt some sort of type-o's got through despite both the credited editors, and the uncredited eyes, we had on it. If you want to send notice of type-o's so they can be corrected in the print edition before it goes to print (as well as in the PDF, for which everyone will receive an Updated Copy), please do not post them here at Kickstarter. Kickstarter does not send me notifications to check for stuff. Instead, please email them to me at general @ daringentertain .com (spaces added here because of: bots).
Thanks for backing us, and hope you enjoying playing it as much as we do.
Regards,
Lee F. Szczepanik, Jr.

Nevermind, figured it out.

Anyone know how to send message to individual here on Kickstarter site? I can't seem to figure it out.
Dreamer on February 8
Heh, I've forgotten how to send messages to others here on Kickstarter and ended up sending it to you from my email.

Should have gone right out. I did tests earlier with two different emails not affiliated with any RPGNow account, and they came through within less than a minute.
Message me your email, and I'll send you a new link to it individual. Because it was done as a mass mailing from them, it's possible a few might have gotten lost in transit for some reason.

How long should it take on DriveThruRPG and RPGNow's end to get all the comp copy emails sent out. Because I checked spam folder in case and haven't gotten mine yet.

Randy, Oh no worries. Dave has been with us since 2003, back before I got into RPGs even and was doing comic books and fiction. He doesn't charge us for stuff like this. Anyway, he's deleting the background layer and exporting a new PDF. Message me your email, and I'll send it to you soon as I get it. Just make sure you can receive about 7mb's worth.
When this goes retail, we'll include both PDF versions in a .zip file.
Oh, and THANK YOU for the Fate SRD. You sure made my work a little easier in getting the Fate Rules into the book!

@Anna: If you pass me the source files I'll do it for you for free. I'm the guy behind Fate SRD site and I have all the right apps. If you're game I'll PM you my email address.

Randy, Let me forward that to Dave and see what he can do. Unfortunately, anything layout or technical related is completely outsourced to freelancers because neither of us here (me nor Anna) know the programs or how to do it.

@Anna: Turning off layers in the PDF doesn't work in the iOS version of Acrobat so I can't read the book on my tablet. Is there anyway you could create a "printer friendly" version without the background?
If I need to I can solve this problem for myself but there may be others who want the background removed for mobile device reading or maybe they don't use Acrobat at all.
Randy on February 8
@Anna: I use Preview (not Acrobat) and so I didn't see the instructions. Thank you.

Thanks, Michael. Hopefully folks like it enough. I'm already working on a second mega-adventure, a free "con game" demo download, and what I call the Daring Comics Handbook (because it is for both GMs and Players), which has more rules expansions, some new power examples, how to tweak things to run in different comic book genres (such as Golden Age, Silver Age, et cetera), and things of that nature, and some character build advice like I would post in the old Dev Journals.
No firm release date yet, because I also have to get a dual Savage Worlds book project done that they've been patiently waiting for me to launch a KS for, as well as the fiction projects I've been getting ready for publication.

Congrats guys! Looking forward to looking through this soon :)

There is a note/comment on the cover page. In Adobe, go to the left hand menu. You will see an icon for two overlapping squares. Click that, and expand the Daring Comics Rulebook PDF.indb option if it isn't already expanded. Next to layers, click the eye-icon for background. That turns off the background image and makes it a white-page background only.

Is there any way to get a PDF version without the active background pattern? I can't read the text on that background. (And I'm looking forward to reading this!)
