My name is Joseph, and I'm a teacher, grad student, and a hiker, so I see a lot of people wearing backpacks. A common problem that I've noticed is that hikers and students grab their straps while getting up the mountain or a cross campus. This strap grabbing position is generally done to relieve shoulder fatigue, cut down on hand swelling, and for a more comfortable place to put your hands that help to relieve the weight of their arms. I've designed a lightweight product that attaches to most backpacks and will give you all the benefits of grabbing your straps without any of the draw backs. Adding a pair Pack Slings feels like ten pounds came off your shoulders. Now your upper body is working with your legs instead of stationary which is what happens in the "strap grabbing" position. Most importantly my product helps you use the weight of your heavy arms for you by shifting the weight from the back and shoulders to the hands. They allow the wearer to keep a more natural and efficient "running position" with a much more comfortable design than straining to clutch the slick webbing the pack comes with. In the summers I have had the good pleasure of working in national parks or doing some road trips and have been on the highest peak in most of the western states and have used my product to help me get there. I find them much more comfortable than the old way I used to hike and I think you will love them too.
The last launch of this project was successful and with the funds from this project with discounted rewards from already great prices I'm hoping to make Pack Slings in 2 more colors, Lime Green and Fuchsia. I'll be able to get all the sampling prototyping and fist run underway. Thanks for your help last year and hope for your continued support while Mountain Industries expands it's selection.
