About

In February – March 2008 a phenomenal find in the Egyptian desert was made. A team geo radar specialists from Egypt employed archeological geophysics, a method to subtract non-destructive information from features below the ground. Without excavating you can find what lies beneath to great depths. The results were sensational: They discovered The ‘Lost Labyrinth’. A building described by Herodotus, consisting of 3,000 rooms and ‘more impressive then the Pyramids…’ Doctor Abbas Mohammed Abbas Ali, world renown specialist, stated clearly ‘It still lays there!’

Why Was This Discovery Never Heard Of?

The results of the expedition were officially released by the NRIAG for the first time in August 2008, in a workshop in Cairo. Louis De Cordier attended this meeting. But Zahi Hawass, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, limited the output of the findings…

After this the Mataha Expedition results were published in the fall of 2008 in the scientific journal of the NRIAG. And lastly, the expedition results were exchanged on a public lecture at the University of Ghent. Many Belgian newspapers and magazines published about the findings. Knack, similar to Newsweek, put it even on its front page.

Louis De Corider waited patiently for Dr. Hawass to make the findings public. When no such steps were taken, he decided to set up a web page (http://www.Labyrinthofegypt.com) and post the findings.

Risks and challenges

Excavations where started in 2009 under the lead of the University of Cairo… But this was stopped due to power struggles... So after years of frustrating waiting… The world still doesn’t know about this time capsule. A discovery with worldwide implications, because it dwarfs every ancient building… Not only can you find there the tombs of the first 12 pharaohs of Egypt, but also the most beautiful art of ancient history…

It depends from you to restart the excavations....
