This sketchbook is for anyone that LOVES comics or would like to learn how to draw them.
Unlike other "How-To" books out there... What sets ours apart from the rest is that you can actually sketch inside of it. That's right! You sketch directly over-top of our unique phase out guideline system.
I'm glad you asked! Each of our sketchbooks uses an easy to follow along "phase-out" system that begins with lots of guidelines that you draw on top of. As you progress through the sketchbook, the guidelines are slowly taken away, reducing your dependency on those guidelines.
Our GOAL is that as you progress through the sketchbook, you will begin to visualize the shapes and ultimately be able to draw without the need of any guidelines.
Each chapter contains simple, easy to follow instructions by renowned comic book artist Andy Smith (more about Andy later...). Here's a quick look at each.
At the back of the book, we've included some reference materials including list of art schools where you can find courses specific to comics, as well as important industry information. We've also included over 20+ templates intended for you to scan or print additional copies of so you can keep on practicing.
How to Draw: SUPER HEROES appeals to a wide range of artists. We've made it simple and easy to follow along and feel anyone, at any age or any skill level will be able to enjoy using this sketchbook.
Andy Smith has been a professional artist for more than two decades, working on such titles as Silver Surfer, X-Men, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Batman, Superman and many more. Most recently, Andy provided the pencils on DC's best-selling Earth 2 series, and inking Marvel's trilogy of Thanos graphic novels with Jim Starlin, as well as the Thanos vs. Hulk mini-series. Andy is also the author of the best-selling "Drawing Dynamic Comics," currently in its seventh printing, and "Drawing American Manga Super-Heroes," both published by Watson-Guptill. Andy has also worked for the children’s book divisions of HarperCollins and Disney, drawing titles featuring DC's heroes and Spider-Man respectively. In addition to drawing the series Demi-God for Ominous Press, Andy also serves as Art Director.
Below is the high speed video of Andy inking the Batman Sketch Cover from our Live Stream drawing session. You can see the entire recorded session here... https://live.kickstarter.com/mark-kokavec/live/how-to-draw-super-heroes-drawing-session-with-andy-smith
Become a backer of this project and pick a reward. We've gone ahead and printed a short run of this sketchbook for Kickstarter. Specific rewards will be shipped after the campaign ends, so you'll get your copy right away! Everyone else will get the full print production copy in early 2018.
Want to buy more than one? You will be able to add on extra books during the post campaign survey process. For our last sketchbook, we had partnered with Backerkit and the process went sooo smoothly that we've decided to use them again for this campaign and future ones.

SHIPPING INFORMATION & DETAILS
One thing we've learned from managing the impossibly huge number of reward combinations from our first three campaigns is to strike a balance between timely delivery of rewards to our eager fans and being logistically responsible to our staff and partners. So here's what we've decided about shipping rewards for this campaign.
We have set the estimated delivery of all pledge levels to January 2018. There are many moving parts after the campaign ends, especially when it comes to production and shipping of goods from our overseas factory to our HQ. To ensure we produce the best quality product, we do not wish to rush the process so this estimated target date may change based on any issues we experience post campaign.
Rewards from this Kickstarter will ship from the United States. Shipping costs will be collected through a pledge manager "Backerkit" when the goods are ready to ship. Shipping costs will reflect the cost to ship your pledge and any additional ad-ons you select.
Backers are responsible for any and all import fees, VAT, duties, taxes, post office fees, and or any other fees their country or government imposes.
We were able to drastically cut our shipping fees after partnering with one of the largest fulfillment companies and receiving a much better rate than our previous campaigns.
Shipments that could not be delivered due to an inaccurately provided address (including failure to update an old address or not being written in the English language) will incur additional costs to be reshipped.
In order to keep costs low (as requested by our backers), we will be shipping all rewards using USPS economy service. This shipping method does not include insurance against loss or damage. If your package is lost or damaged during shipping, additional fees will be incurred to reship a new reward. THANK YOU!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
