Once again, I'd really like to thank all of you for your support. It's really encouraging that all of you are interested in this project that I've been working on on my own, and that means a lot to me. I've been working a bunch on the game, and you guys can all look forward to a big update soon!
I'd like to take this opportunity to encourage everyone to ask more questions, as I'm pretty new to developing games for others and it helps me to know about what you'd like to know about. I'm doing my best to answer them all as soon as they come in. I received a lot of great ones and I wanted to share them with everyone.
Q: Will you release a Linux build of the game?
A: I'm looking into it, but sorry, as of right now I won't be able to export for Linux. I'm releasing Paper Sorcerer on many different platforms because Unity exports to them out of the box.
There's a possibility that we might do a webplayer [in-browser] version for people on unsupported platforms, but that's still up in the air.
Q: I'm deaf and I want to know if the game will have subtitles so I will know what is said in the game?
A: The game has no voice-over, so all of the dialogue in game will be in text. You won't be missing out on anything except music and sound effects.
Q: Could we (the backers) purchase multiple copies? So which ever level I pledge for myself, could I add another $12 for 4 more digital copies, for friends/family?
A: Most definitely! If you'd like to get multiple copies of any tier, just choose the reward you want, and add the appropriate amount to your pledge.
Additionally, if you'd like to add a different reward to your contribution, [Say you want the $25 box release reward, but you want to send your friend a $3 digital copy] just add the amount for the additional reward to your pledge.
Once the kickstarter is finished, we'll send out a survey and you can just fill in which additional rewards you'd like.
Q: Could we have a sample of the music, to know what its like?
A: I'll definitely get one out soon, right now I'm focusing on the gameplay, and the sound design is still in development, so I going to wait on releasing any of that yet.
Q: About the music. Are you writing it yourself or are you looking for outside help?
A: I'm composing music myself, but if anyone is interested in composing music for Paper Sorcerer in exchange for credit, I'd be glad to give it a listen!
That's all for today, thanks for all your support!
