New Stretch Goals! Progress! Demo Update!

Hi everyone!

Let me begin with a quick progress update:

It looks like the campaign has slowed down a bit - but this is completely normal! According to pretty much everything written about Kickstarter, most people back the project in the first few days or the last few days and everything in the middle is just kind of flat.

We've not actually seen that trend until the last few days, where the amounts pledges per day have dropped. We're still seeing new faces popping by to pledge every day though, so hello to all of you wonderful new backers too!

We're just £46 away from 70% funded, which is fantastic considering there's still 11 days left in the campaign.

NEW STRETCH GOALS!

I said that I'd announce some new stretch goals, so here they are:

£12,500 - 2 New Bosses & Forms!

Hydra: If you're able to kill the Hydra, you'll unlock a form that allows you leave versions of yourself around the world that you will return to should you die.

Pan-Dimensional Time Leech: This giant, slug like creature eats time for breakfast. If you take this boss's form, you'll unlock the ability to control the flow of time.

Perhaps this will come in handy later in the story...

£15,000 - New Form That Unlocks Co-Op!

It wouldn't be Mable & The Wood if co-op mode was as simple as selecting it in the menu.

This stretch goal will unlock another mimic as a boss, who will copy the forms you have already unlocked and use them against you. Once you defeat them, you will unlock a form that allows you to drop a 2nd player in and out of the game, to help you with your challenges.

This stretch goal requires quite a bit of extra work, so it will be released as an update following the game's completion!

The last few days are going to be very hectic, so I wanted to add these now. I appreciate they're a long way off, but they're really cool so I wanted you to see them :)

Update On The Demo

I am working on this as we speak. I've managed to get most of the bugs fixed and am now just working on making it look a little prettier and tidy up some of the level design to work better with the different forms you can play in the demo.

A bug free spider form! Just need to make the web look nicer...

I'm hoping to have this finished today, but will just need to get it to my playtesters to make sure I've not added any more game breaking bugs! I know you'll expect some bugs with it being an early pre-alpha demo, but you don't really want things like this happening:

Don't worry, this one is fixed now!

The newer forms also haven't been tested to the same level as the fairy form, so these are subject to change quite significantly as the game develops. Any feedback is of course super helpful, so I'll get something set up to make it easy for you all to tell me what you think!

City of the Shroud

I backed this last week and wanted to suggest you check it out. It's actually just hit its funding goal, but has some cool new stretch goals!

City of the Shroud is a tactical RPG with visual novel elements. The combat looks really cool, with the use of a real time combo system. I think mixing that with the 'living story' that players will contribute to is a stroke of genius.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, then I'd definitely suggest checking out the Kickstarter page.

Okay, that's it for this update. Next time, we'll be finishing part 2 of our look at the art direction and creature design for Mable & The Wood in a backer exclusive update.

Until then, I hope you have a great weekend and thanks again for supporting me and my game!

Please remember to like the update (if you liked it) and spread the word on Reddit, Twitter, Facebook and wherever else folks lurk these days.

Talk to you all soon!

Andrew

Thanks Shawn, it'd be pretty awesome to hit the co-op stretch goal!

Demo is going well, just getting a couple of tutorial levels in where you can practice with the different forms.

Love the update! The stretch goal bosses/forms sound really fun, hopefully we'll reach it. Can't wait for the demo, both so I can try it and so you can promote the project more.

      Me too!

I think sharing the demo will provide a boost, and apparently the last 48 hours is the most busy for new backers.
