The most effective and interesting parties contain a variety of characters: characters with different alignments and goals, characters with personalities that clash and resonate in unexpected ways, and characters with stories worth retelling again and again. These stories can include sorcerers with dark secrets, rogues who covertly steal from paladins and clerics, or waifs who fall in love with high elf nobles. Parties that create conflict, fascination, and spectacle are built out of contrasts and compliments.
Here are the miniatures planned so far!
With the Stonehaven Adventurers 2018 project, we are creating Adventuring Parties that have a mix of races and classes. We want to make a lot of miniatures, so we will be adding additional minis via stretch goals as the total pledge amount grows. The minis can be added individually with prices dependent on size.
Human, dwarf, half-elf, and owlfolk sized miniatures: $5
Kobold and goblin sized miniatures: $4
Grippli, mechanical, and child sized miniatures: $3
Dwarf riding a Yak sized miniatures: $12
The miniatures will be made of 100% lead free pewter, and some assembly will be required. They will be sculpted on the standard 28 mm scale. Round bases will be included.
And now we present your Adventuring Parties!

When the west gate was breached, a handful of citizens held the gap for hours while the city's beleaguered engineers moved the chevaux de frise into place. The survivors of that fateful day still meet yearly at the Westgate Tavern to commiserate and remember those who fell.

Ever since the hordes of Orcs swarmed from the great city following the call of the All-Render, Ermcrest, once an Orcish slum, has become a haven for criminals and others seeking to avoid the watchful eyes of the law. Despite the borough's ill-repute, efforts are being made to establish a semblance of order. The Ermcrest Volunteer Watch does its best to keep the peace, to little effect.

The Skull Stabbers are a ragtag group of thieves and would-be assassins looking to make a name for themselves. Assembled by the now infamous Ralph the Old, they are available for hire to stab things, especially skulls, and all at a budget rate!

For those in need of extra security (. . .against the Skull Stabbers?), the Protection Services Adventuring Party can act as bodyguards and consultants. They take your security seriously, because if you die, they are contractually obligated to offer a full refund to your surviving relatives.

The Silent Eye watches all. It observes, learning from its surroundings and from the acts of others. The Temples of the Silent Eye are open to all who seek healing or wisdom, for what is learned should be shared and used for good. The members of The Silent Eye Adventuring Party seek to do just that: to learn through observation and to apply that knowledge, increasing the goodness of the world. Is there some sinister element secretly directing the actions of this outwardly virtuous group for their own nefarious purposes? Probably.
This last group is not officially a party, but you can get them all by pledging for the Completionist 2018 reward! You can also get them as individual add-ons!

We've already reached a lot of stretch goals! Here are the ones that are coming up soon:
We reached $18,125! Celinia Di Loreto the Female Human Apprentice will be added to the Silent Eye Adventuring Party and is available to add to your reward as a single mini ($5.00). Celinia entered the service of the Silent Eye as a child. Although she is now of age to join the Sisterhood, she is still very much a child in many ways.
We reached $18,750! Serra Kayakomsin, Half-Elf Cleric, will be added to the Protection Services Adventuring Party and available to add to your reward as a single mini ($5.00). Who is Serra Kayakomsin? The Kayakomsin family has run the Strymian smuggling tunnels for generations, growing rich and powerful from their ill-gotten gains. Serra has left that life for one of faith, but sometimes skeletons just won't stay in the closet. That's what turn undead is for I guess.
We reached $19,375! Halfdan Borgarson, Male Human Guardsman, will added to the Silent Eye Adventuring Party and is available to add to your reward as a single mini ($5.00). While fighting in the Dark War, Halfdan was taken prisoner by drow mercenaries. Seven months later he was spotted in the upper tunnels, wide-eyed and feral. Though weaponless, it took five dwarven patrolmen to subdue him. Servants of the Silent Eye took pity on Halfdan and brought him to their sanctuaries, where they have begun to heal his shattered mind.
We reached $20,000! The remaining members of The Silent Eye have been unlocked! They are available to add individually to your reward as well. This ]includes the Male Human Hireling ($5.00), The Male Kobold Warrior ($4.00), and the Female Human Elementalist ($5.00).
We reached $21,000! Brewmaster Grymm, Male Mounted Dwarf Brewmaster and Esmeralda, Yak Mount, have been added to the Completionist 2018 reward level and available to add to your reward for $12(combined). The pair will count as 2 miniatures for the purposes of rewards and will come as separate parts. Brewmaster Grymm and Esmeralda make a formidable fighting team with Grymm hurling insults and carefully brewed ales and Esmeralda pretty much destroying everything in their path.
We reached $23,000! Jedrian Earthbreaker the Male Dwarven Wizard has been added to the Completionist 2018 reward level and available to add to your project as a single miniature ($5.00). From a young age, Jedrian felt the call of the stone. Like decent dwarves, his parents steered him away from the arcane. But the lure of the ancient knowledge was too strong, and the voice of the mountain could not be ignored.
We reached $25,000! Darvinius Winderchime, Male Dwarven Musician, has been added to the Completionist 2018 Reward level and is available to add to your reward as a single miniature for $5. When Darvinius first laid his hands on a harp as a mere child of ten, it was as if he already had the knowledge that only years of practice can acquire. Minutes later, he had stolen that harp (having lulled the original owners into a peaceful slumber with his newly-discovered harpsical prowess!).
We reached $27,500! Orvinir Relsch, Male Dwarven Tiefling, has been added to the Completionist Set and is available to add to your reward as a single mini ($5.00). Orvinir's bloodline has been cursed through their mercantile dealings with the infernal plane. That being said, Orvinir is the first in a long time to manifest the curse physically, and the rest of the family is doing extremely well for themselves.
We reached $30,000! Growp Bogwader, the Male Grippli Undead, has been added to the Completionist Set and will be available to add to your reward as a single mini ($3.00). Growp isn't one of the angry dead, but he is mildly perturbed. The afterlife was quite comfortable after all.
We reached $34,000! the Owlfolk Child Mechanist has been unlocked, added to the Completionist 2018 reward, and made available as a $3.00 add-on.
When we reach $35,000, the Owlfolk Child Archer will be added to the Completionist 2018 reward and made available to be added to your reward as a single mini ($3.00).
As usual, we will add more goals as these ones are met!
Here are some of the miniatures whose initial sculpting is close to being done:
Risks and challenges
While we are fairly familiar with the process of sculpting and casting miniatures by now, there is still some risk that our project will be significantly delayed by factors beyond our control. To mitigate this, we will be working with manufacturers that are here in the United States that we have worked with in the past for the work that we do not directly do/supervise ourselves. Additionally, a large amount of the sculpting of these miniatures has already been completed.
We will do everything we can to make sure that the miniatures are to our backers by the date indicated on the reward, but our top priority in relation to the project is ensuring that the miniatures are of the highest possible quality.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
