This documentary will follow a team traveling to Tanzania, Africa, in order to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro with the ultimate goal of exposing the truth of modern-day slavery.
By the time you have finished watching this trailer, more than two children will have been sold into slavery.
We once thought slavery was a thing of the past, but the truth is that there are an estimated twenty-seven million slaves in the world today. That is more than any other point in history.
People all around the world from Africa, Asia, Europe, South America, and even the United States are beaten, abused, raped, taken, or killed . . . every single day. Children as young as twelve-years-old are forced to have sex up to forty times a day. The sad truth is that only 1 — 2% of victims are ever rescued.
These are the facts, now what will you do?
As William Wilberforce said, "You may choose to look the other way, but you can never say again that you did not know." It's time for us to stop looking at these statistics and to start changing them. It's time for us to take a stand.
In early 2015, I will be filming a documentary while following a team of everyday people who are dedicated to taking a stand for freedom. I will be capturing the team's journey as they travel to Tanzania, Africa, to summit the world's highest freestanding mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro. It will show their entire project from the planning and preparation stages to their return expedition down the mountain.
Their goal is to use this feat in order to raise awareness and support to help put an end to human trafficking. Throughout this documentary, not only will your eyes be opened to the truth of this inhumane abuse and be shown the work of organizations combating this issue, but it will also bare the hearts of individuals who are dedicating their lives and all their strength to stand up and make a difference in this world.
My hope through catching this entire journey on film is to ignite a passion in others. Each and every one of us has something to stand for. My hope is to use this documentary to inspire us to do so. May each of us take a stand!
Please consider helping me on this quest of making a difference. By doing so, your support will be a part of that very difference!
Risks and challenges
Due to the ever-changing situations in Africa, it is possible that our team's departure may be delayed. If this proves to be the case, we will overcome this issue by selecting the most appropriate time in which to attempt the climb.
There are always challenges to be considered when reaching the summit of such high altitudes. We are taking specific steps to surmount this challenge by training our bodies before the climb. Also, a world-renowned mountain guide, Ian Taylor, will be on our team! He has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro eighteen times with a success rate of 98%.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
