Have a question?
@Amarjit Thanks for the question! As per the kickstarter, fulfillment date is still the end of March! If anything changes, we'll let you know!
for the orders that will be shipped in march, exactly when in march if i may ask ? first week ?
@Amix: Thanks for your questions. Can you please email firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can answer your questions directly?
Hi! I don't know if you got my email via kickstarter page: "Sorry, something went wrong. We've been notified and are looking into it." So I have to ask here:
a.) are you sure about shipping a book to AUSTRIA (Europe) is 25$ (my pledge was 30$)
b.) if a.) can I switch to ebook only?
c.) if b.) what is to be done that I am not charged when checking out from backerkit.
d.) if b.) is it possible to checkout from backerkit without giving you credit card information?
Haha!! I was literally writing an comment when yours posted!! Great! I *hope* Scandinavian countries are sorted now!
It works nicely now!
I am working on it as we speak, actually. I will post an update when I sort out the EEA Countries. Thanks for your patience!
I'm with stein. I see there's a glitch, but how do I complete the survey without committing to pay $50? Norway is not difficult or hard to ship to. Books tend to cost very little to ship here.
@stein Apologies, there is a glitch in the shipping. Please check the updates section for full info. It will be fixed before any charges. Thank you.
Wow, $50 for shipping to Norway... What is the book made of? Lead?
Mr. Jenkins: As you see, I have responded to the email you sent us with what you've written below. Here is my response:
Thank you for your email. I'm unsure what you mean "honourable" way. We are trying to be very honourable and provide people who live outside of easily assessed shipping areas with accurate shipping quotes. I'm unsure how that is not honourable.
We are not asking you to negotiate shipping with us, but only in the very few - less than 20 as far as we can tell so far - cases of backers living outside North America and Europe, we wanted to provide exact shipping costs.
We have not had very many issues with anyone, and most certainly haven't been spoken to in this manner.
We are happy to provide you with an accurate shipping quote, or resolve the matter in whatever way you deem appropriate.
Every other campaign I have backed managed to do this is an honourable way. This process is rubbish, as I should not have to negotiate shipping with you.
I have spent too much on this book now, time to cut losses and stop supporting your shortfall.
Hello everybody! Regarding shipping costs: We had hoped that we had communicated effectively about shipping costs related to the campaign. Please check the updates, as I will be posting one there shortly, but in brief, we did post, in the campaign that shipping costs would be addressed after the campaign was over. Also, as it turns out, we are unable to ascertain accurate shipping to destinations other than Europe and North America. As a result, we have stated in updates, emails, on the BackerKit survey and in as many places as possible, that if you live anywhere other than North America or Europe to please contact us for a custom quote.
We apologize if this has caused any confusion. We
Disappointed to have shipping higher then the book cost. That is usually available at time of making the pledge, and forms a part of the decision. Might not bother completing the form as the book is not worth 50 dollars to me.
@Tinu... sorry about that, there must be a technical error. We will address it this morning.
Just received the Backerkit Survey. Can you please check shipping costs? I have backed up the soft cover book for $20 and now I should pay $50 for shipping to Switzerland...
@John Thomas Draper & Craig Wilson Fraser. look forward to reading it. i learned you exploits from Hackers—Heroes of the Computer Revolution by Steven Levy. been a following the "community half my life. inspired me to think outside the "box". we can accomplish anything if we put our minds to it. id love to hear what it was like interactive with Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs in the early days
@Jon - Thank you, and yes, it has been an interesting journey, as is John's life in general. Hope you enjoy the book!
Really happy this backing was successful. Was sorry to hear about John's recent trouble but doesn't change the fact that I'm interested to hear his story. Fascinating character.
@Jacob Riggan - Thank you so much. Enjoy the book! :)
@Paulo Ferreira - Thank you so much. Enjoy the book! :)

Make your Project with Knowledge and Heart, So we all can Enjoy your Pioneer Life.
Can't wait to read the book from the great legend!
you have been a inspiration for many generations of the hacker community.
@Larry: You had to get in early for that one. Thank you!
My first kickstarter and I made the BLUEBOX CLUB!! I'm looking forward to the book and the Anonabox. I'm also hoping we get the next stretch goal!
This comment has been removed by Kickstarter.
@david foley: Thank you. John has been an inspiration to many. It's been an amazing experience working on this project with him!
@ersto: Thank you too! The Blue Box level sold out in a day... we should have known :)
Kickstarter does not guarantee projects or investigate a creator's ability to complete their project. On Kickstarter, backers (you!) ultimately decide the validity and worthiness of a project by whether they decide to fund it.
@wayne: yes! It's actually an ebook. our bad.
@kelly: I'm afraid not as they were produced super exclusively by our friends at anonabox, and simply put - there are no more.
We are always available for questions and comments as suggested!!
Don't hesitate to request information from a creator. You can always reach out before pledging via the "Contact me" button on the project page.
Can Kickstarter refund the money if a project is unable to fulfill?
No, Kickstarter doesn't issue refunds. Transactions are between backers and creators directly. Creators receive all funds (less fees) soon after their campaign ends

Kickstarter Basics: Accountability
Who is responsible for completing a project as promised?
It's the project creator's responsibility to complete their project. Kickstarter is not involved in the development of the projects themselves.
Any chance of another batch of blue boxes? I would gladly up my pledge for one :)
You are a pioneer and genius. I wish could afford to pledge more, but I am happy to have at least helped. I am still inspired by your story and your approach. The ages will not forget you. Hacker love.
Having first heard about Captain Crunch as a 14 year old in the 70’s, that started a life long hobby of building small circuits, although I was never a successful phone phreak, I still enjoy the hobby you inspired me to take up.
Thank you for that, and thank you for bringing this book to us, glad I got the 199 level before they sold out.
Looking forward to that 2600 hz whistle, that tone always brings back fond memories.
Any chance of the ebook being released as an epub/mobi rather than just a PDF so we can have scalable fonts and reflowing text?
Well, I've always been fascinated by this part of computing and telephony history, so I gotta get in on it. And to think it all started for me from a little zip file I found on my local BBS called "phreak.zip" which contained tons of materials about phone phreaking. (Not that it mattered, since none of the stuff worked anymore, but it was still a fascinating set of text files that was just plain interesting reading). And yes, someone typed up "Secrets of the Little Blue Box" in that collection as well.
And we must never forget, one of Jobs' and Wozniak's first product they sold was a Blue Box. Apparently a very nice blue box, at that.
At the $199 level, the “blue Anonabox” is listed. I’m assuming there is just one model of blue Anonabox, and that’s the “pro” model. Since the little details matter, you might want to make that a tad clearer. I’m running with my assumption though, and have already pledged at that level. I read the book “Hackers—Heroes of the Computer Revolution” many years ago, and I look forward to learning more about the great Captain Crunch. :)
Learn to code.
Its a cewl thing, over 10000 $ we did it ;-)
