I have created a photography book titled "We Are Wisconsin" which chronicles the weeks of protests in Madison, Wisconsin, against Governor Walker's attempt to eliminate collective bargaining rights from public sector workers. Since the book was self-published using an online process, the price per book is nearly $100, plus shipping. My objective here is to raise sufficient funds to present a copy to each of the 14 senators who left the state for nearly three weeks in order to give Wisconsin citizens time to fully comprehend the governor's action and to organize their opposition to it. One copy has already been gifted to the Historical Society. This has been, and continues to be, an extremely significant period for the political landscape in Wisconsin and the labor movement nationally. It is also quite likely the single most dramatic and important period in the political careers of each of the 14 Democratic senators.
I have no desire to personally profit from this project. If more money is raised than is needed to cover expenses, the excess will be donated to the campaign to recall Governor Scott Walker. This should be seen as a contribution to the 14 senators--not to me.
