‘Blue’ is a 163-word rhyming coming-of-age story for children between the ages of two and five. It follows a young boy as he works through different coping strategies for feeling blue. He tries playing games, forcing a smile, and eating lots of comfort food, like chocolate, but none of these things seem to help. Finally, he discovers a solution when he decides to tell his parents how he really feels.
‘Blue’ deals with the real feelings of sadness that can show up seemingly without any reason. Currently, there are many great initiatives to promote mental and emotional health, and this book aims to contribute to the cause.

Risks and challenges
'Blue' has been fully written and illustrated -- it is ready to be put out into the world. This a very exciting time for me!
In terms or risks and challenges, the unknown variables include the final production of the book, which could take some time. However, I feel well prepared for this step as I have already found a reliable printer and printed some test copies.
The real unknown in my head is how many of you will be interested in kickstarting a children's book about feeling blue and learning to talk about emotions.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
