What is Grey: The Lost Technology?
Our project is a game in the works called Grey: The Lost Technology. It is our first major project at Team Aurora and is an Indie action/adventure game that will be released for Xbox 360 and Windows (PC). We've planned the project extensively, and have been working on it for quite a while. Development started in October as a smaller team, and have picked up a few members as of late. We came together to make this game because we want to go back to the roots of what makes an indie game truly indie. We want to be unique and fresh — we don't want to dish out a standard "cookie-cutter" game that looks just like every other. We want to create games that are unique in any way that you look at it.
What Can You Expect From Grey: The Lost Technology?
The game will play like a 2.5D semi-top down view action/adventure game — Think Legend of Zelda. We have a full story written and some unique mechanics/design choices that we would like to incorporate into this project. As our first major project, Team Aurora is determined to see this project through to the end, and the help from Kickstarter would help us make that push. We would also like to help any other indie game companies grow; we really want to give back to the gaming community as a whole because we are all huge fans/members of the gaming community. Ultimately, we want to deliver a fun indie action/adventure game that people will just love to play.
The Story Thus Far....
Humans have discovered a new form of technology that captures actual consciousness. This new technology, dubbed codename “Centauri”, has been used to fuel the future world that they inhabit. The humans do not know exactly how this technology works or even what it is, but they do know how to harness its power for practical purposes. The Earth is becoming overpopulated and is slowly dying as a result of this. As a last-ditched effort to save the planet and their race, a group of humans, with the help of scientists, have banned together to start a settlement on a new planet. The planet “Omega” has been scouted and verified to be able to support life with sustainable temperatures. It is mostly a desert planet, with one large body of water, where the group of humans will land/rebuild a human civilization so that future generations may live. This group of humans travelled across the reaches of space for an undetermined length of time aboard their ship, “The Chrius Voyager”. The ship is massive, housing thousands of people from all different backgrounds/demographics/skillsets, and harnesses the Centauri tech as its main source of power.
Upon reaching planet Omega, an unknown error caused The Chrius Voyager to crash land on the planet. The error is/was believed to be due to atmospheric anomalies on Omega. The survivors have rebuilt a civilization utilizing the scraps/tech from their ship in order to construct a city, known as “The Utopia”…
It has been three generations since the people crashed on Omega. People have to fight for survival as the people are starting to outgrow The Utopia’s life support systems. As a result, some people have been driven out of The Utopia and others have chosen to leave to survive in the harsh landscape beyond its walls. In order to combat this growing threat, the son of The Chrius Voyager’s captain, Corvus, has taken command and started an initiative to find a more efficient/powerful version of the Centauri Tech…
This is where your journey begins.
Cool Features? Yeah:
Fast paced combat in many different styles
In-depth, and Immersive Story
Beautiful pixel art, from two talented artists
Innovative UI, including a minimalist HUD.
Tailor the game play to your liking! Customize a balance between energy and health to enhance combat. The more you train in one style of combat, the better you become at it, thus the more it levels up.
How Will We Use The Kickstarter Funds?
The funds from this Kickstarter, with your support, will pay for more software to improve the game, voice actors to do voice acting, fees from Xbox/Apphub, and other registration fees. If we get enough funds, we will port it to the Playstation 3 and mobile devices that support iOS and Android. And remember, everyone who pledges will get a place in the credits!
When the Game is Released, How Can You Get It?
As of right now, we will be distributing the game through the Xbox 360 marketplace, and through our websites for the PC. We are hoping to get the game available on Steam as well!

Currently, no it will not. We don't have large enough demand for a Linux or Mac version. If there is more demand, we can change that.
