What makes us human? Our body? Our mind? Our experiences?
Imagine a universe where no one dies. The human mind is a digital program that can be copied, saved and reprogramed. The idea of self and identity are completely redefined. This is the world of Transreality.
Transreality is a graphic novel that tells the story of James Watson, a man living his everyday life in 2013 Yorkshire...or so he thinks. As this futuristic story unfolds, James discovers a universe of splintered cultures, artificial intelligences, uplifted animals and virtual worlds. James explores his new universe, his place in it and what it means to be human.
Transreality will be a 128 page, full color, soft-cover graphic novel.
$18,000 Stretch Goal
If the $18,000 goal is met, everyone who's pledged $20 or more will receive a special, bonus, 24 page, one-shot, mini-comic book! This book will be set in the Transreality universe and will be a separate, complete story that explores the life of someone else in the 22nd century.
The book will be designed and drawn to 8.3" x 5.8" (UK A5 size).
This will be a Kickstarter exclusive. As in, I will not sell it anywhere else, EVER (though the story may end up in an anthology somewhere down the line.) This print will just be for you guys.

Why a graphic novel about this weird stuff?
I've been a fan of sci-fi my whole life. Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who... you name it. In the last few years I've stumbled upon this exciting new genre of science fiction called 'transhumanism.' Its ideas have been touched on over the years in movies and books, including some of my favorite sci-fi novels Accelerando by Charles Stross and Recursion by Tony Ballantyne. There is even a kick-ass role-playing game about it called Eclipse Phase.

But I have yet to find a comic book that really gets into the nitty gritty. A comic that tackles the subject of the evolution of not only human society, but of the physical human body and mind. What can we become? The possibilities are endless and I hope to scratch the surface with Transreality.
Why am I bugging you about this?
So far, only the first 20 pages of Transreality exist. This Kickstarter is to complete the remaining 108 pages and get the finished graphic novel into print. And it needs YOU!
