Potcheen has been criss crossing the country for the past 9 years employing several alternative energy sources to make touring more affordable, however the best intentions and plans dont always goes as planned.
Major mechanical issues with 30 yr old tour buses has cost the band over 15,000 in repairs and they have spent almost 4-5000 in gas for every major tour.
In 2009 "Grace" was destroyed after being hit by a semi in Missouri and Christian (Capn) was gravely injured shattering over 12 bones and a major head injury. He was told he could not play for 12-18 months, but 4 months later the Cap'n jumped back into the fray and bought a new tour bus "Bonney" to keep the mission going.
But travel, equipment costs and of course Studio recording costs $. In this tough economic time, the band has endured, cutting touring to a minimum but local shows have been reduced greatly by club owners looking to save a buck.
However during the Florida Tour, a Entertainment Lawyer saw them perform at EUROFEST and an opportunity to record with his partner, a famed producer from Nashville arose. This may be the opportunity that will put POTCHEEN over the bump in the road and get to the National Level they have wanted so badly. But the trip and the studio time will cost money.
So along comes KICKSTARTER. This allows the fans who have enjoyed the shows and music over the past 9 years to help the band continue its trek into year 10 with an ALL ORIGINAL album which will hopefully get the Pirates their chance for real radio airplay and more festival appearances.
