Just broke $12,000!

Hi My Brooklyn supporters,

The campaign is going well! Highlights include passing the $12,000 mark, some great blog coverage on Develop Don't Destroy, NoLandGrab and the hip hop blog MCMI Report.

We have a commitment from Kathryn Barnier, a talented and experienced editor who cut Marco Williams' film Banished (Sundance Film Festival, Full Frame Festival award-winner) to come on as our editor starting in September.

We have a new video for you, featuring Co-Producer Lisa Willis and photographer Jamel Shabazz: http://vimeo.com/26866013

Even though it's going great, we still need you all to spread the word. Can you take five minutes today to send the following email (or something else if the language doesn't work for you) to some contacts you think would be interested in what we are doing?

Dear Friend,

I just contributed to this really interesting documentary about the changing landscape of Downtown Brooklyn, and how we can work together to make sure the "old" is included with the "new" in big development projects in NYC and beyond. Check it out at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2082341950/my-brooklyn and contribute if you can. All amounts help.

Thanks! We are $7,800 away from wrapping up this campaign successfully. And remember, if we don't raise the $20,000 by Sept. 3 we lose everything.

THANKS from all of us for your support in getting us here.

Best,

Kelly, Allison, Lisa, Fivel, Laurie and Lenford
