About this project
In order to support my project it is really important to know my story.
I have repeatedly been asked by a diverse number of people where I purchase my jewelry and the different kind of clothing I wear. Fortunately, I have relatives and friends who hand-make and sew all these different artifacts and jewelry from the West Coast of Africa. I started selling jewelry and dresses to my friends and co-workers.At this present time, I have a large inventory that includes all kinds of jewelry from Africa; belts; men, women and children's clothing; musical instruments, scarves and shawls. I have been showing off my products at local fairs in my area. I also organize home jewelry parties for friends, co-workers and family for special events. My ambition and goal is to expose the beautiful artifacts of West Africa to people all around the United States.
You would want to know this.
All my clothing are based on the batik technique.Pictures are made on a cotton cloth, wax is applied and finally dye is used to complete this work of art.
Some of my jewelry are hand-made wooden jewelry and others are stone beads found in the African soil hand-selected to make bracelets, necklaces and earrings.
How can YOU help me?
In the Summer of 2012 different people from all diverse cultural backgrounds will come together, in unity. There will be a Fashion Show where people could learn about different styles of clothing and designs. There will be entertainment with drums, music and an introduction to a new culture.
This project will open up a door to a continent you don't know much about.
Artifacts, clothing and jewelry pieces will be showcased at this event by me.There will be food, performances and fun for all different ages. Discover Africa through the meeting of people who are interested in Art and Fashion.
This project will not be possible without YOU.
We need your pledges for this joyful event to happen! Putting together a Fashion Show is not an easy project.
All I am asking you is to come together, in unity, enjoy the presence of other people and have fun at the same time. We are getting together to celebrate our diversity.
You make your pledge and we guarantee the fun!
Thank you in advance for your time and just for checking out my project. You have nothing to lose: your support is needed and you get rewards for supporting me!
This is a win-win situation.
God Bless you for making this your choice.
I would like to leave you with these African proverbs:
" Though it is the hand that gives, the man must be thanked"
"Unity is strength, division is weakness"
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
