My name is Amara Por Dios I'm a Stockholm based artist and designer who has been active in the street art scene since 2010 . My style is a mixture ancient, ethnic imagery with a modern palette and animated, graffiti application that is reminiscent of a more vibrant version of the tribal art left behind by the Aztec and Incan peoples.
I have had exhibitions in galleries across Sweden and also painted live for festivals such as Peace & Love and Art Of The Streets. I'm very proud to have had the opportunity to collaborate on designs for Finnish sports brand Karhu and illustrations for legendary LA producer Flying Lotus and most recently Canadian underground Hip Hop artist Moka Only for his "Martian Xmas 2012" album cover.
I'm now focusing on taking my art international and currently planning to exhibit in London and paint big murals. I'm leaving Sweden to spend three months in the UK. My goal is to paint as much as I can such as streetart and show my work at galleries. Right now I'm preparing for my first international exhibition that will take place in London, Shoreditch at The Great Eastern Bear commencing the first week of May. That's where I need your help to make it come true.
I am raising funds to cover the cost of the exhibition in London and need to fund everything myself from canvases, paints, travel, shipping and accommodation to promotion and 1 weeks hire of the central London gallery.
This is not only a opportunity for you to help me on my journey but to also own some of my work. As a reward for your contribution and support I have gifts in all price ranges from stickers and T-shirts right up to paintings and even the opportunity for a large commissioned painting or mural so please give what you can and help me continue my dream.
Everyone that pledges will receive details and a invite to my show in London, it would be great to see you there if you can make it.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and please follow and support the Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram.
Risks and challenges
This is my first ever show in the United Kingdom and my network of contacts there is not as large as I have in Sweden so the main risk or challenge I might encounter is knowing someone with the resources or contacts to help should any difficulty arise. For this reason I have enlisted the help of an experienced curator from London who can help me in all aspects of putting the exhibition together. I will also rely on the strong and ever growing support I have generated in the United Kingdom through my Instagram, Twitter and Facebook pages.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
