Hey, babes. We're Places to Hide. The conclusion of 2012 marked our year anniversary as a full band as well as the completion of our debut full length album, Almost Nothing. We feel incredibly fortunate to have come this far along in the process that is making an album, and we would like to extend a special thanks to Ben LaRoche of Studilaroche in Atlanta, GA for catering to the sad state of affairs that is the average twenty-something-year-old's gross income, consequently allowing us to record, mix, and master Almost Nothing. Our next obstacle : pressing the album for release.
It had originally been our intention to release this album a couple months into the new year. However, we find ourselves at the start of March with nothing tangible to show for our efforts due to the fact that we have, at this point, exhausted the funds we can reasonably put towards this record - which is, of course, why we're launching this Kickstarter.
We're all really, really thrilled and proud to have at hand this set of quality recordings, but we need a real boost in the releasing process. Our aim at this stage is to release the album both digitally and on vinyl come the end of spring, so that we have something to bring with us on our first East Coast tour, which we plan to take in June.
All contributions made to our Kickstarter will go directly towards the pressing and release of Almost Nothing. And we have really cool things to offer in return for your generosity!
Depending upon the size of your donations, your much appreciated and babely charitableness could be rewarded with the following one-of-a-kind items:
Thank you for reading, and check out the music video attached for the new song, "Michael Jordan" to catch a glimpse into the life of Places To Hide (all footage recorded and edited by Dessa Lohrey and Patrick DiRito). Additional tracks and older recordings can be found on our BandCamp. Much love to Atlanta and the DIY Scene that got us this far; it's been nothing but fun.
One love and lots of babes,
Michael Amenta (Places to Hide wardrobe and hair stylist)
