Thanks to Kickstarter we now have a way to connect directly to audiences and ask them to participate in funding RESILIENT 3D, a Sci-Fi/Disaster Film featuring Robert Beltran, his first Sci-Fi film since Star Trek:Voyager!
RESILIENT 3D, The Story: In 2052, amidst an endless stream of natural disasters, the Earth Union President activates the Exodus Program. Theoretical Physicist Dermot Turner (Robert Beltran) is tasked to lead the Program and move the human race to Europa, Jupiter’s moon, which has been discovered to have an ocean teeming with life. Dermot, whose wife Claire (Ayelet Zurer) has just died in a tornado in California, travels to Mars to seek the help of Adele (Virginia Madsen), the leader of a human settlement. If their joint effort fails to develop the architecture for a safe journey to Europa, mankind desperate for survival will be forced to invade Mars and battle the inhabitants who do not want their new world destroyed by billions of unsustainable newcomers. With war days away, Dermot returns to Earth to continue searching for a solution — forever Resilient. This Sci-Fi film is both a love story between a man and a woman, and mankind and Mother Earth.
His Past Will Shape Our Future.
Who Are We: We are a group of independent film professionals, backed by an international sales and production company – MonteCristo International Entertainment, with many years of experience in producing and selling independent feature films around the world. In fact, MonteCristo has pre-sold distribution rights for RESILIENT 3D to a number of international territories as part of the financing of the Film. Our last 3D film (Apartment 1303 3D) was released widely around the world – the first release was in Russia on 456 3D screens! We expect RESILIENT 3D will be even bigger and wider based on the feedback from our distributors.
WHY KICKSTARTER? Visual FX laden movies cost a great deal of money to make. Although the advancements in technology have helped bring the costs down, it is with the support from fans from around the world that we can get these great WOW effects done! Kickstarter is a new component to the challenging world of independent film financing and connecting to our fan base early on along this journey, will create even a stronger, active bond with the Film, its story, and its protagonists.
As a production and international sales company, we've been able to largely finance this Film based on selling international distribution, tax credits and personal equity...but we are still a bit short, and this is where Kickstarter and you come in!
HOW WILL THE MONEY BE USED? The film has a large amount of visual effects and achieving the minimum funding goal will allow us to deliver the quality VFX envisioned. Most sets include green screen that will be removed in post to show the Mars landscapes and environments. There are over 170 VFX, holographics and CGI to render the amazing journey from Earth to Mars to Europa.
We will start shooting in
Montreal, Canada in April, and we will update you daily from the set during
the shoot! The post-production and VFX
will get underway immediately thereafter and RESILIENT 3D will be ready for
delivery by the end of this year.
The Rewards: There are many levels you
can choose to participate, please review them to the right. There are some really exciting options, from chats on the set to dinner with Robert Beltran. We appreciate
every dollar you pledge and look forward to hearing from you on our FaceBook
Goals: Should we be so fortunate to achieve more than our goal, there are a number
of further VFX that we would add to make the film even more impactful.
JOIN US: Be a part of Robert Beltran's return to Sci-Fi in RESILIENT 3D - make a pledge and be a part of this amazing film.
But beyond that, we need to get the word out in a big way. You can start now and post on Facebook, and email this Kickstarter link to everyone you know who likes films, Sci-Fi, Robert Beltran...well, you get the idea!
Hey, we’re RESILIENT! That said, as with any movie production, there are various risks and challenges. We are offsetting those risks with production insurance, contingency plans and a production team with years and years of experience. Having completed and successfully distributed worldwide, another 3D film (APARTMENT 1303 3D), and having pre-sold a number of territories around the world for distribution, we are confident RESILIENT 3D will be in theaters in 2015.
With respect to rewards fulfillment, we will be working with a professional fulfillment partner to get all your DVD/BluRay's, digital downloads and other goodies delivered safely and on-schedule.
We'll be posting regular updates about our progress to all backers, so you'll be the first to know what is going on.
Travel, lodging and transportation to events and set visits not included in any reward bundle and are the responsibility of the pledger.
For those visiting the set, we are shooting in Montreal, Canada in April 2014. We will keep you updated so you can plan ahead to visit us!
You must be over 18 or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian (who will count as your plus one) to attend the premiere or visit the set.
This crowdfunding campaign is subject to all applicable Kickstarter rules/regulations and applicable law. If any of this conflicts, we will work with you in good faith to give you a substitute reward.
