About this project
Backing this project @ $10.00 gets you the Kickstarter Reward of: The Imaginist-Volume I
At almost 45% off retail cover price!
Your backing of $1.00 or more...Can make 11 dreams come true!
My literary journey now known as “The Imaginist” project began in 2005. I started this expedition with a self-published title called “Before You Imagine, Forget All You Know”, which upon its release was received very well. The collection of short stories, parables and poems connected with so many people, who were excited that a relative unknown could produce such great work. I gave hope to others that the dreams of publication could come true.
I would spend the next five years producing new collections of dark fantasy poetry, while they were all received with a positive response. I could not escape the shadow of popularity spawned by my first self-published title. During this time I also began to speak frequently at conventions about the art of writing and was frequently approached by other aspiring writers. I was often asked if I produced the work of others in my anthologies. My answer would always be that it was something I wanted to do in the near future.
I have always been a supporter of those who took a chance to pursue an artistic endeavor. I have bought plenty of demo music CDs, art prints, self-published books and comics. So wanting to produce the work of others was only a natural extension of my desire to support other artists.
Presently, many things have happened in the past six years, the birth of my daughter being truly the greatest of all events. Yet I also came to the realization on where this project, I started six years ago needed to go and how it would be completed. It was my fans that provided the answer to my ongoing artistic questioning of my place in the literary world. The answer was quite simple…get back to what started it all.
The Kickstarter Plan:
I realized by returning to my foundations I could build a set of books that would collect not only the imaginative tales I have created but also the poetry so many readers loved. I also would have the opportunity to help a group of aspiring writers reach their personal goal of publication. It also meant that I needed to refocus my imaginative energies and in a sense have a rebirth.
I knew with respect to my current fans, my reissued titles must be exactly what they wanted. So my pervious (5) releases would be augmented with new fiction and renamed to show my new commitment to producing fine fiction that would be a step above my previous releases.
My previous vision of (10) titles with a loose direction, now had a solid plan. I would call my new titles “The Imaginist”, a term meaning, an imaginative person. For so long I had struggled to define what type of genre writer I was; now I know that does not matter. All that matters is telling a good tale and finding a few other writers who will do the same.
I have completed all my new fiction and have begun the process of editing the new work. I have selected and worked with (10) unpublished authors, (6) have completed their works. I am busy working with the remaining (4) to complete their tales. I have also begun working with my current cover artists to complete the new covers for all (10) books. My planned release date for all (10) books is set for February 17th 2012. This will give me adequate time for editing and getting books through printing process.
In the past, I funded all my book title releases. Yet a project of this scale is beyond my current cash flow and will require a substantial investment to cover the production of these 10 titles and bring this project to a close.
Printing and (10) titles setup costs: $3975.00
Cover Art rework and requisition (10) titles: $2025.00
Total minimum funding needed: $6000.00

Reviews of PLMII’s books by: Midwest Book Review http://www.midwestbookreview.com/
Before You Imagine, Forget All You Know
(Now Titled: The Imaginist: Volume I)The author has writings in several different forms. There are poems that are biting satire, prose that is sinister, and some short stories of dark horror. Pay particular attention to the tale about Jack and Jill. He has a new slant to "Mother Goose" stories. They are some of the best of his writings because he depicts with very few words long lasting images.
For The Hell of It
(Now Titled: The Imaginist: Volume II)
The second book in the series of horror poetry, it doesn't matter what order the books are read, unlike many other series of books. The poems are easy to read and the author's words evoke a dark perception of the world. Once again the artwork of Scott Messer holds the reader’s interest with his use of colors that are so bold.
The Wicked Word
(Now Titled: The Imaginist: Volume III)Through the use of poetry the author takes the reader on another excursion into the dark realm of horror filled with vampires, werewolves, exorcism, and a lot of other creepy things guaranteed to make you lose sleep. Some of the outstanding poems to look for are "Tea with a Dragon," "Jennifer Jones," "The Fair." Also make note of the very eye catchy cover.
Drop Dead Sexy
(Now Titled: The Imaginist: Volume IV)Poetry is not something that does well normally in the publishing world. People have for years hated the genre possibly because of the way it’s been taught in schools and colleges. Philip Lee McCall II has broken the mold once again with his horror poetry that has another great chilling cover.
The author takes the reader on an excursion through the horrific world of the undead and does a masterful job by telling his stories in the poetic writing form. There is an eerie felling to his pieces that is sure to please anyone who likes chilling horror.
Black Sands Fall
(Now Titled: The Imaginist: Volume V)Philip Lee McCall II is back with another collection of horror poetry. This time they are intertwined with genies, zombies, and other scary creatures. Scott Messer again provides a very colorful cover that entices the reader to enter the world of McCall. There is also a cadence of the poems that has the feel of the "Raven" or "The Bells" by Edgar Allan Poe.
Yes. I have only to edit and work with four more authors and the set of author stories will be complete. I anticipate this process should be done 9/2011.
