On behalf of my family and I, THANK YOU for taking this journey with us! I am writing this book as a practical guide for encouragement and to encourage readers to find common ground within the United States after the anomaly of the 2016 Presidential Election and the divisiveness throughout and following the election. My hope is to compel each of you to consider "Nationalism" as "National Identity" and to focus on what unites us as a people, rather than what divides us as a nation.
This project, my first book is not possible without the generous support and prayers of my family and friends, that means you.. So here is what I am asking --> funding is the lifeblood of a project, and I would be honored if "will you help me to get other people to come together despite their deep political divides?"
It was once said, "Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see." This book is about our future, our children, and our nation, and is dedicated to the goal of doing “real and permanent good in this world” by BOLDLY addressing today’s problems, while offering ideas and strategies that draw strength from the collective experiences we share as a nation.
My goal is to benefit the people of the United States and the world for generations to come. Your contribution allows us to convey a message of hope, and that message is that we have more in common than we think, and what unites us is much greater than what divides us.
This is a journey I would like for us to take together.
Risks and challenges
The risks around 'The 8th Social Sin: Nationalism without Compassion' are very low because 75% of the book is written. This campaign is to pay for artwork/illustrations, graphic design, and for the book to be proofread and edited. We have worked out a very generous deal with a metro Atlanta studio to do the audiobook.
Once payment has been received, we expect it to take four months to print (including downloadable e-book and audiobook) and allow for shipping. We will have copies ready for our official launch in January 2018 in conjunction with the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of The King Center's founding. We chose the launch date symbolically in support of the theme for the 2018 MLK Commemorations: "FORWARD: TOGETHER WE WIN WITH LOVE FOR HUMANITY"
Since we have identified designers to do the final illustrations and layout for the final version, we will do our printing and shipping through a company that specializes in book printing. There's a risk that either our designer or printer are delayed, but we've built in some additional buffer time on top of their estimates.
