A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. Full support for DSD and PCM encoding

Both formats digitise the analogue source: DSD captures sound data as a sequence of single bit values (including DSD2.8, DSD512, DSD256, DSD128, and DSD64) with a high sampling rate of up to 22.5792MHz (1024 times the sampling rate of CD). While PCM digitally samples the original audio source, then converts the signal into binary digits called ‘bits’.

Risks and challenges
The risks of this project are low. We have already finished a lot of prototyping, material research and testing as well as already produced a small batch of pre-production units with our established suppliers. PCB's are already fully functional but might undergo another revision. The firmware will undergo further optimizing for minor usability and sound improvements. The enclosure has undergone several prototyping cycles already, we've tested a range of materials, gluing, folding and printing technologies. The side panels are already injection molded samples and just need a few slight adaptions.
Of course it can still happen that there are minor delays, because we can't foresee everything. Surprises lurk everywhere.
