Welcome to On the Backs of Gods, a brand new Pen and Paper RPG set in an incredibly unique world. A world not only filled with humans, elves, dwarves, and talking bears, (more on that later) but also with gigantic, monstrous creatures both dangerous and helpful. The civilized people of this world have found themselves incapable of living on the surface, amid legions of horrible monsters set on devouring them. They instead found refuge on the backs of even larger creatures, creatures the size of cities and small countries. And so they built their cities there, and there is where adventures begin.
I'm looking to raise funding to be able to publish a book for the game, hardcover and fully illustrated, about 200 pages. The majority of the book will contain information about the inhabitants of the world of OtBoG, such as the Walkers themselves, the people living on them, as well as the other creatures and entities. Each Walker section will include a color illustration of the creature, statistics about its population, as well as information about the ecology, economy, culture, and other things pertaining to the life on that specific creature.
The rest of the book will contain information for the game system i'm designing to coincide with the world of OtBoG. This will be a d6 system, based around realistic survival, and quick, brutal combat. The construction of the game system is secondary to the actual setting information, to make it easy enough for players to switch in their PnP system of choice.
Throughout the Kickstarter duration, and afterwards assuming it gets funded, I will be posting video updates providing more information about the setting and the game system. There is also an OtBoG subreddit located at http://www.reddit.com/r/OtBoG/ for any discussions about the game, we have an official facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Onthebacksofgods and you can also email me at Adamroeger@gmail.com for any questions or comments!

The d6 System
Risks and challenges
The major hurdle for me to overcome is the fact that I am not involved in the business of making tabletop games, nor do I have much experience making them. I am simply a man with a creative vision who wishes to share that vision with as many people as possible. I'm hoping to build a close-knit community with any backers that wish to be involved in the development of the system, so that I can learn from others perspective, and make the best game possible.
I know I cannot guarantee that this project will culminate into equaling my vision, but what I can do is promise anyone that backs that I will do everything in my power to release a great product, worthy of any PnP shelf.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
