Dancescape, a celebration of dance unlike any other in Los Angeles, needs your support!
With more than 30 individual dance pieces by different choreographers, professional dance companies, and studios throughout Southern California, Dancescape Los Angeles is quite a production. Your contribution will help us ensure the lights are bright, the music crystal clear, and the stage is set for more than 150 dancers to perform.
Our new venue is Level 3 Nightclub at the beautiful Hollywood &Highland complex. State of the art lighting and sound ensures that each piece is presented the way it was intended, while the larger club space can more easily accommodate the 400 - 600 patrons that attend each show. We could not be more excited to expand our production to accommodate more performers and a larger audience; but a bigger show also means a bigger budget. Your help and support through these "growing pains" will ensure our ability to continue these important events.
Dancescape has been providing opportunities for artistic expression to dancers, choreographers, singers, and musicians since 2003. We are a truly unique experience, in that we embrace a wide variety of dance styles, welcome pre-professional participants, and include dance students in elementary, middle, and high school dance programs. Not only do these children get to share the stage with some of the top working professional dancers and choreographers - featured in music videos, films, and on shows like "So You Think You Can Dance" - but they also have the opportunity to interact with and learn from other dancers their own age in a supportive, positive environment. Up and coming choreographers are given a chance to shine, as well as to get footage for their resumes and reels - a vital tool for any aspiring dance professional.
The nightclub setting provides a fluid and casual experience for the audience, and the reasonable ticket prices make dance accessible in a whole new way. At Dancescape, you can see a prima ballerina from the Ballet Nacional De Cuba, followed by a B-Boy crew from America's Got Talent - and you can see it all from four feet away.
Please help us continue this exciting and inspirational tradition!
