We are Apt. 502 a theater company based out of New York City. We came together as friends and collaborators who shared a similar passion for experimental theater. We are currently training at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
Through this project we are discovering what it means to be a young artist today and the versatility and flexibility needed in order to generate work. We are all actors, writers, directors, movers, musicians and technicians and we are using this plethora of talent to create work that we truly believe in.
“Dear Friend,” is a play about a man who escapes his mundane life in order to discover what it means to be himself in a world that’s constantly labeling him and limiting him.
We have been working for the past year on the idea and script of “Dear Friend,” and are excited to continue working on it through the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and into the future. As a company we have become enamored with the idea of breaking the boundaries that have been set for us by social institutions and cultural constructs.
“Dear Friend,” is the first step.
Your Donations: The money that we receive through your donation will cover airfare from New York City to Scotland and lodging for our cast and crew, marketing and advertising for our show in the Fringe and production costs. This production will be impossible without your help. Not only are we trying to put up a show, but we are also doing it in a foreign country with international costs. In other words, any donation is greatly appreciated!

Risks and challenges
Live theater is unpredictable, but ultimately what makes it so exciting. Having a team that you know how to work with and that you trust can pull it together when it's needed makes the process that much more thrilling and rewarding. Although we are a company of young artists we understand the difficulties and challenges that we might face putting up a production, nevertheless in another country.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
