You may be asking, "Why do The Dead Records need my money?" I will do my best to answer that question in the following section. The biggest thing that needs to be understood is all the seperate steps that go into the final album that you hear.
Luckily we have already completed the recording process and paid for it, but that is part of the reason why are funds are depleted. We spent about 5 months recording this album and we are very excited about the songs that are going to be part of it.
We do not mix or master our own music. We leave that to people who are far more trained in that area and people who can make us sound as good as possible for you. With that said, mixing is a long tedious process that takes time and concentration for the person who is doing the mixing. Things like this cost money so this is one part where your donations will be helping.
Many people dont understand what mastering is and what it adds to the quality sound of any recording. Simply put, mastering is the process that makes songs, "radio ready." But it isnt as simple as that and this is why we pay someone to do this for us as well, another area that your donations will be helpful.
All of these things kind of go hand in hand and this is, for us, the most expensive part of the entire process that gets our record into your hands. This project is going to prove to be even more expensive this time around because we are pressing vinyls and this is far more expensive then simple CDs. This is really where your donations are going to be the most helpful.
All of these things are expensive, but very necessary to the final project which is a brand new full length vinyl from The Dead Records. Wth your help this project will take form. We have asked so much from our fans before, but nothing in the form of donations to the band. I would not be asking for support of this kind if I was not extremely excited and anxious to get these songs in a form that everyone can hear them. Every little bit helps.
